The Inside the Gilded Age tour is the best tour I have ever been on. I take a lot of private tours of historic places and I am a big fan of the HBO series. This is not meant to be a comprehensive tour of the mansions. I did that on my own but this tour does exactly what it says and more Melanie and Ray are outstanding guides. The tour was informative and a whole lot of fun with a lot of insider tidbits. The transportation around the mansions was seamless and comfortable. There was even a wonderful stop for refreshments. Inside the Gilded Age tour with Melanie and Ray was definitely the best experience I had in Newport out of the many wonderful times I had visiting the mansions. Membership to the Preservation Society is included in the price and I felt I got my moneys worth and then some

I will never step foot on any preservations properties again. I am a life time member who drive almost 4 hours out of state for a trip to Newport and the mansions and am not allowed on the property without prove a covid 10 vaccine. This is discriminatory and flat out not lawful and breaks human rights laws. Rode island has lifted all mandates. I was here in 2020 in the heat of covid and was able to tour the mansions with no problem, just a mask. Even in NY where I live they lifted all mandates. Shame on your organization!

Lovely mansions. Only two out ten were open to visit during our visit in November.

It was a dream come true to finally be able to explore the mansions along the cliff walk. The guided and audio tours were fascinating. I hope to return soon.

The Breakers and two other house museums are open year round, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The other house museums operate on seasonal timelines. Check the operating schedule for your intended time of visit at www.newportmansions.org
Get a membership; it's by far the best value!
Yes they are open and there's a nice fireworks display at Fort Adams
Yes, but not one that is part of the Preservation Society.
I'm sorry. I would have to call to find that out. Of course if this is a registered handicap dog they would I'm sure.
Are the mansions opened for tours from April 2,2021 to April 6, 2021?
They have ready started decorating. It should b done by nov. 30th
The Green Animals Topiary gardens is a property owned and maintained by The Preservation Society of Newport County. A visit to the Topiary Gardens is considered a single admission which requires a ticket or a scan of a multiple-house ticket. Check the operating schedule online at www.NewportMansions.org/plan-a-visit/operating-schedule
Check out www.NewportMansions.org/CustomTours to arrange Private Tours of certain mansions after hours.
The Preservation Society honors unused admissions on tickets forever. Not only do you not need to visit 5 properties in one day, you don't need to visit them in the same year. Note that if you intend to visit 3 house museums, this is your best ticket value.
Hi Suzanne, unfortunately I don't have an answer as I just took a picture outside the place as the mansions look cool!
