Our first time visiting the Lighthouse. The greenheads were out in full force and i had no bug spray! The nice ladies in the gift shop offered me some (just go outside to spray yourself down though) two of the three that were in there are local artist and some of their work is available for sale inside. We paid $8.00 each to be able to tour the Lighthouse (self guided). The two gentlemen there were funny, friendly and knowledgeable. It was a lovely view at the top! We will definitely return when the air is crisp and the bugs have left with the summer heat. Hope to get there near sunset to get some cool shots 📸.

This light house is very cool, one of the few that are a house and light house in one. Beautiful area, well kept, gardened. Was a bit buggy, so might want bug spray.

Fantastic lighthouse which is situated in an area that you can access it at anytime. There is a portable bathroom which is very convenient and was in very good condition. There are many gorgeous views of this area! Highly recommended if you visit South Jersey and appreciate lighthouses! Follow me CHASING SHOTS on IG for more photos. ❤️ Spread love!

Great location for rock hunting. Quartz covers the beaches. Also found jasper, calcite, agate, and a beautiful piece of chalcedony

I believe there are. I haven't ventured personally but about a half mile before the light house there is a really big sign with a giant map of different trails for walking, bike riding or horse riding.
I don't see why not. The guys who used to fish here stayed all night
I do see the sign Keep off the beach for bird migration. However, nearby when you come out of East Point Lighthouse, you make right to the end I do see people fishing on the rock.
Currently, East Point Lighthouse is closed to the public. The owners are battling the state to protect it from the rising sea level, which has come dangerously close. At this time, anyone can visit the grounds of the lighthouse, but it is closed for tours. I hope there is a resolution soon!
It was in the fall but you should call to confirm hours.
Their Facebook site says the lighthouse/giftshop is closed until further notice...but...I would guess you can still walk around the area along the bay.
Yes just need to clean up and as always leashed. If you on your way into east point if you have seen signs for Edward G Bevans Game preserve there's more trails and plenty for you and the dog to do ....Crabbing fishing hunting. Pheasant deer duck hunting is great by far my favorite past time.
It's only open certain days a year for tours but you can go there any day of the year at any time, just can't go inside.
I believe so, if you do go its run by volunteers who love this light house
I wouldn't advise swimming here. There is broken glass in the surf and people fish here, so there is always the chance to maybe step on some discarded fish hooks etc. Thompson's Beach is really not much better. Too many rocks.
