Beautiful place you'll wanna spend hours at just enjoying the peace. We parked in the parking garage, ended up getting free parking!

Absolutely beautiful and tastefully done sanctuary honoring him and his life and music. Perfect location in a beautiful public park in Aspen with great scenic views and lots of nature as I'm sure he would have loved it. 5 Stars for sure!!!

This is a wonderful tribute. The path is a little rugged for those with mobility issues. It is located beside the Roaring Fork River on the SE side of Aspen. The giant bolers with John's lyrics are easily found and places provide for quiet contemplation.

Love this place. Serene walk among engraved rocks with John Denver poetry. Not wheel chair accessible, but easy to do for 2+ y.o. kids. Plenty of flowers to look at and smell

Stunning. Take lots of pictures but also take time to absorb it all
No turtles unfortunately. Box turtles are common all over America, but not at this altitude.

Free in November. Not sure the rest of the year. But I believe it's free all the time to walk around.
According to the Aspen Chamber of Commerce there is a yearly celebration in October as fans pay tribute to John Denver. Events include musical tributes, personal remembrances, luncheons, gatherings in the sanctuary, and more. So, yes, it appears it is open in October.
