Nice trailhead with a plaque. Heading north, you walk right through the charming trail town of Hot Springs, then over the French Broad River. There are many options to eat and go shopping here, an overnight stay is recommended!

The only location in town/along the AT is Hot Springs Resort. The water is funneled from underground hot springs into hot-tubs you can pay a small fee to sit in. Not really a natural surface hot spring you can just hike to and get in.
