Their billing ethics.

The Doll Asylum

Hands down the worst company I've ever dealt with. We have been customers for 20 years (by force), and up until the last year when my son became disabled we paid on time. Today our community is being threatened by huge fires and they shut my water off. They refused a 2 day extension because I'm "always late" by the incredibly rude woman behind the counter. So rude in fact we've been late twice due to having to walk there myself when a caretaker begged to not have to go deal with the witches that work there. The extension wouldn't be necessary if they would allow changes to our billing date but they won't do that because they have shutoffs set to happen 2 days before the elderly and disabled get paid. Naturally the fees go up astronomically 24 hours after shut off. They literally prey on the most vulnerable, knowing people have to have water. They threaten code enforcement (basically losing your home) right on the shut off notice. Whoever runs this company should be run out of town. Btw if anyone reading knows how to pursue any way of doing something about this crooked monopoly please contact me. I'm willing to pay lawyer fees. To everyone else - if you have the means to use another company, even dig a well, I suggest that instead of further supporting these scumbags.

I just want to say it is very sad that nothing can be done, about a leak at my house and I was not even home. I'am a senior and live on a very limited income.I believe that the water company should take into consideration about such problems and not be so uncaring. This is just another way the paying customers get ripped off. Thanks for the NO caring about from Konocti County Water District.

Questions & Answers

Can I pay my bill on line?

Don't use the processing co. listed there...they take 7 days to pay after you give the money up to them @ $3.99 fee for services They're called doxo.com Why are they even an option? Good Lord , this will make your payment late and then you will have to pay a late fee. By the way used to be $20. Flat rate if you are late (or by the 6th) now its only around $8. if you pay (after the 10th) but wait ...then turn you off by the last day of the month. Now $80. will be added to turn back on.?? I think this may have been Illegal .... years down the line ....oh well...its just your money...but someone pushed this out in the open and the late fees dropped just recently... also the bill has the correct amount owed and Not the amount if late fee added so prelevent that may get confused by elderly folks paying bill. Just thinking about it all.

Instead of highlands water, can i have konocti water for my service in clearlake?

Linda Lassabe | Sep 2, 2018
Christine Marie Flora | Sep 2, 2018

Linda, Im curious as to why you do not want Highlands Water Company as your wster provider where you live? Could it be the exceptional, friendly, outgoing, courteous staff at Konocti County Water District that make you want it? Or is it the difference in pricing? Please do tell us. Unless you are within the service area boundaries of Konocti County Water District, which I suspect you aren't based on your question, your water service will be Highlands Water or Lower Lake Water.
