My trainer, Erik is incredible! He’s always pushing me a bit and doesn’t seem to be bothered by my complaining and wanting to slack off. He’s very kind and understanding about my personal issues and needs.

When I decided that I wanted to start working out after twenty plus years of nothing, I spent a lot of time checking out all the gyms close to my apartment in Park Slope. I decided to go with Harbor Fitness and I don't regret my decision at all. Whether I'm going in at noon or midnight, there's always a friendly face to welcome me there. All of the equipment is clean and working, the attitude of everyone there, employee or member, is positive and I've never felt uncomfortable. A special thank you to my trainer, Brenden.

This place is great! Encouraging and helpful. I wasted so much money on gym memberships in the past and never went. I go to all my sessions and look forward to them. And I am getting stronger and feel better every month!

Absolutely! You do not need any prior experience with exercise to achieve results with our method. Our certified trainers give personalized instruction and work at a pace that is appropriate for each client. Our method is an ideal way to exercise for all levels of experience. Whether you have an advanced background in fitness or looking for exercises for seniors we encourage you to try it for yourself! You can schedule a FREE Introductory Session.
Try a Free Introductory Workout with no obligation. (Normally $75) Your Introductory Session is 40 minutes (1 hour for Virtual Training). You will receive 1-on-1 instruction on how to perform slow-motion strength training and will experience a real workout. Your Personal Trainer will determine how to tailor your workout based off your experience level, fitness goals and health history, including current injuries and/or limitations. Together you will establish clear goals and a plan to achieve them.
Yes. Many of our clients have limitations or prior injuries that require us to modify the workout. Our Personal Trainers are qualified to accommodate most limitations. We recommend seeking the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.
We primarily use Nautilus machines. They are specifically calibrated to accommodate the slow speeds we use in our workouts. A portion of the workout may require the use of free-weights or alternative equipment. No equipment is required for our Virtual Training programs.
Yes. Each trainer goes through our extensive education process. Most personal training certifications do not require any hands-on training to get certified. At The Perfect Workout, our certification goes beyond books and heavily involves hands-on training with real people. We test our trainers’ knowledge and expertise with numerous written and practical exams. All Personal Trainers are AED/CPR certified and are required to complete continuing education as part of their employment with The Perfect Workout.
For over 20 years we’ve helped more than 40,000 people get stronger and improve their health and quality of life. We have over 60 studios nationwide and serve clients worldwide with our Virtual Personal Training Program.
It’s pretty common for people to think The Perfect Workout is a franchise because we have so many locations. But we're not. In fact, we are the LARGEST privately owned 1-on-1 personal training company in the world. The quality of our workout and our trainers is very important to us. We feel strongly about having the ability to ensure we can provide exceptional training and customer service in all of our studios.
We’re classified as a Medical Fitness Facility, NOT a gym. Under that umbrella, we follow Medical Fitness Association guidelines - even stricter than the CDC. Our Medical Fitness Advisory Board advises us on program protocols for different disease tracks and ensures we follow best practices for pandemic.
You can either train at an intense rate for a short period of time, or at low-intensity for a long period of time. Our methodology is based on brief, intense workouts that exercise the entire body in an effective and time-efficient manner. The only thing that makes this workout “too good to be true,” is that very few people understand how to correctly implement this methodology the way that we do. With our coaching and your commitment to giving your best effort for 20 minutes, you’ll be able to reshape your body with a much smaller time investment than it would take using other exercise methods.
When you can’t get to one of our studios because you're too busy, traveling, or staying home due to the pandemic, then our Virtual Personal Training program is for you. You get our science-backed method through a video application (like Zoom), an efficient 20-minute workout personalized to your needs and goals and quality 1-on-1 training – from the privacy of your own home or anywhere in the world.
