At 2:30 AM Wednesday, April 13, I went to pick up somebody. I buzzed at the front desk 6 times & could see the reflection of 3 people in there. All 3 ignored me. They didn't appear to be on a task doing anything. They didn't have any citizen complaint cards for anyone to fill out. I ended up calling the phone number of the detention center & one of them came to the front desk. Is this common practice? I'm not impressed!

The staff is nice but the black mold always gives my sinuses a terrible time, after being there for just a visit my sinuses have issues for 2 days. I'm sure this has an affect on the inmates. Just because they broke the law doesn't mean they should be subjected to living in these conditions. From what I've been told the showers are even worse than when you walk thru the front door and see it on the ceiling.

I went to see someone who was in the jail. The lady at the desk was the rudest person I have ever talked to. She acted like I was the one in jail. This entire jail treats everyone horrible including the inmates. They need to be checked out for human rights. I have heard the they have dirty guards that do unspeakable things to the inmates, mainly the women.

My nephew has never been in trouble and decided to do something stupid , and yes he deserves to be punished but coming up on a year in September and we have not had a trial. He said the food is awful and decided to drink water to get full and almost die. I think murders and rapist get treated better.

Visiting hours vary depending on the type/area an inmate is being housed in. You'd have to look at the roster.
Call first. That's what I do.
Uhm...crime doesn't pay
I don't think they're allowed to receive them to the kiosk but I know that there's a website you can get on all you got to do is call the department and ask them what you what number you need to have in order to do video chat and you can video chat with the inmate
www.claymosheriff.org/popsheet.php You can go to this website and it gives you names of everyone in there.
Depends on what the emergency is and if it's verifiable. Unless someone is hospitalized or has passed away it isn't usually considered an emergency. Situations vary. You'll have to call and speak to the sergeant on duty. 816-407-4800.
Everyday is different for each pod just Google it or just look up Clay County Detention Center
Clay.mo.inmatecanteen.com is the only thing I know you supposed to be able to FaceTime him email him to send pictures send money anything that's related to getting in touch with him or helping him you should be able to do with that email
You can send a letter to the inmate's name in care of of the Clay County Jail.
You need to find out what pod the inmate is in. The visiting hours are different for the different pods.
Carolyn, contact the detention center and ask. 816-407-3800 ext. 4804.
Do you mean electronic books? I don't believe you can do that cuz there's no access to the internet. books have to be ordered by a publisher and sent directly to the Detention Center and they had to do soft cover.
Couple hours max
No what is it not doing if you are trying to add money and it is not going through you might wanna check to see if they are locked down sometimes that is the case
Yes you can it cost like 8.95 virus a dollar going to the jail... but you have to make an inmate canteen account
