My recommendation is the we need to contact our local councilmembers/officers and make complaints how disorganize the office is. Changes need to happen these are social services that need to serve the people adequately. I tried log into the website and it is completely shut down. This is not a good sign at all.

I've paid all my fees for My food business and even had my menu approved by the health dept, but getting my Cart inspected has not happened yet... The Appt I had was canceled by the Health Dept and has not been rescheduled. Im a Single parent of 4 and all I have collected is more fees and bills, and cannot open and provide for my family with out my cart being approved. I've called but was instructed to continue waiting, but no call backs or emails have been returned.

Diana Padilla | Sep 1, 2018

Yes, you are required to have a valid FWC when you handle any ready to eat food such as ice.

Do I need an appt?

Darcie Brightman | Sep 1, 2018
Carrie | Sep 1, 2018

If it's for an immunization you do not HAVE to have an appointment. If it's for other records that you need to get from upstairs you don't have to have an appointment either. 😊 I would call though just to ask when the best window of time is to come in. It varies and they'll give you a good idea of when to come (during walk-in period).

How do I get my father a covid vaccine appointment he is 70 alot of health problems

vlog life | Aug 31, 2021
Benton Franklin Health District | Aug 31, 2021

Start by completing Phase Finder at FindYourPhaseWA.org and print his certificate of eligibility. Then make an appointment for him at the Benton County Fairgrounds using https://prepmod.doh.wa.gov (currently, appointments open on Friday afternoons for the following week) or at any of the local providers or pharmacies offering the vaccines. Try Albertsons, Fred Meyer, Safeway, and Costco.

How will I be notified when and where to get cov-19 vaccine. I'm 75

Linda Dickerson | Aug 31, 2021
Benton Franklin Health District | Aug 31, 2021

Everyone age 65 and over is currently eligible to receive the vaccine. However, the demand in our area is far greater than the supply. The governor has announced plans for a vaccination clinic coming soon to our area. We are waiting for details of that plan along with the general public. As details are announced, they will be shared in the newspaper and on local news, as well as our website at bfhd.wa.gov. Local health care providers are also getting enrolled in the program so they can provide vaccine to their patients. They are working on the logistics of vaccine shipments, storage, scheduling, and staffing. You should hear from your health care provider when they are ready to schedule their patients for the vaccine. You can call the state hotline at 1-800-525-0127 for more information.

When will those 76 and older receive the covid vaccine?

Gerald Clark | Aug 31, 2021
Benton Franklin Health District | Aug 31, 2021

All people age 70 and older are in Phase 1B, tier 1. DOH anticipates reaching this phase before the end of January. Local health care providers have been urged to enroll in the vaccine program so they can provide the vaccine to their patients. Pharmacies are expected to carry it as well. The Health District is not currently providing the vaccine. When Phase 1B is announced, you will contact your primary care provider for an appointment to get the vaccine.

When should seniors get a flu shot

Shirley Stubblefield | Aug 31, 2020
Benton Franklin Health District | Aug 31, 2020

Thanks for asking! It's recommended that everyone get a flu shot as soon as they are available. Don't wait for flu season to start before getting vaccinated. Check with your healthcare provider or pharmacy to see if they have the vaccine already.
