Eagle Rock Loops is an amazing and epic hiking area. The loop is around 27 miles and is adventure filled! It has so many beautiful views of flowing streams, greenery, and overlooks. The hiking is moderately strenuous and may require some training before taking it on. One section consists of 5 mountains, the most difficult being Brush Heep Mountain. Some river crossing may also be dangerous. Hiking with a group and bringing water shoes is highly recommended. My group and I were able to hike this loop in 2 days. 6 miles one day, 21 miles the next day. Definitely worth the drive (from Tulsa, OK) and a must visit if looking for backpacking areas in Arkansas!

We did the loop over three days and were happily surprised by how many great campsites there were along the way! We were also able to make a fire every night. Lots of dry wood and water available made this hike comfortable and the route was very scenic.

Absolutely beautiful anytime of the year. I have found many plants and trees that only grow in the area. It is challenging but can be done by everyone.

Very challenging for a beginner hiker. Excellent views. Water from creeks tastes great (after filtering) Seems like 80%of trail is next or near creeks or rivers so plenty of water. Many watering holes to swin in. Will return.

The trail is marked with paint and flags but you should bring a map and gps.
The loop is 28.2 miles long. We did it over 3 days at a leisurely pace.
Yes, the trail has plenty of sites used by other hikers. However if you are looking for bathroom facilities or running water, there are 2, so plan your trip accordingly.
There are primitive camp sites along the hike.
This is the location for the loops trail head. You can park there. Go counter clockwise to do the hardest part first.
You can start the trail at any time and it is free.
