Wonderful hike. These pictures were taken in June. Still plenty of snow, but managed with regular hiking boots.

Totally worth the challenging hike. This place was amazing and we didn’t pass a single person, there was no one on top either.

2021-July. Nice decent hike. Awesome views. Can bring dogs. Lots of traffic. Spotty to zero cell signal. Clean toilets.

Very scenic hike with a relatively short climb over a rocky threshold, right over a falling stream, to an epic view of Lake Isabelle, then skirting the lake and beyond all the way up to the glacier!

Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if you can car camp over night? With parking being a challenge, thought I would ask.

You're able to reserve a campsite if you want to! It'll get you about a mile or so hike from the lake and three from the glacier.

How accessible is Isabelle in the winter? Is there an easy day option to do it if Brainard Lake recreation is closed?

Sam, thanks for the quick response! Any recommendations for today if I wanted to do something shorter, like the blue/Mitchell lake hike up near Brainard?
