Dr. John Clancy was not attentive to my medical needs at all. I had been through an extended period of unemployment after a career job loss and ended up needing to utilize Medi-Cal. I rarely utilize the health system and visit doctors and keep my self in very good shape. I have had a past issue with blood clots and was experiencing some pain at the base of my skull and in my limbs that was unusual and lasting quite a long time. I went to him for a physical and to have that the pain diagnosed. He seemed very apathetic towards treating me and dismissed all my concerns, he did point out several times that there were tests that could be done but that because of my medical insurance it would be a hassle. He did nothing for the physical at all. He made it very clear that he wasn’t enthused to treat a patient that had Medi-Cal coverage. I am fully employed again with great group benefits and will definitely avoid Dr. Clancy. I’m sure he readily accepts the Blue Shield Promise Plan reimbursement for the visit I provided even though he did nothing really to earn it.

After many attempts to get proper medical care for several increasing and potentially dangerous health problems ignored by Vista Community Clinic (VCC), I finally switched providers to Clancy Medical Group. I called to make my first appointment. I was beyond shocked when an actual real person answered the phone. (VCC is famous for taking around 3 hours to answer calls, if they answer at all). The receptionist was very patient while I did a good amount of ranting regarding the deplorable lack of care I was receiving from VCC. (A not so nice but very blunt review of VCC will soon appear on Google). Clancy's made my appointment for 2 days later. I arrived for my appointment and didn't wait 10 minutes before my name was called to see the doctor. She spent a lot of time going over my history and discussing my priority medical concerns and adding what she sees as also being of immediate importance. I showed her the blood screening results that were done by VCC 6 months earlier. Not only did she explain the results, she saw some other things that are in need of immediate attention. I spent the last 6 months trying to get a blood results consultation from VCC and finally gave up after they asked why I couldn't just read the results myself. HUH? Because I never went to medical school you brainless idiot! It was such a relief for Clancy's to take me seriously. Before I left, a follow up appointment was made and the doctor said I was going to be very busy with appointments and referrals in the near future. She said we'll take care of the priority conditions and then we'll work on the rest. When I got home, I had already received appointment requests from referrals and my prescriptions had already been filled. I slept very well that night for the first time in recent memory with the thoughts that I was finally going to get to the bottom of and take care of my medical problems. It's as though the weight of the world is finally lifting from my shoulders. I feel very comfortable with the Clancy Medical Group and hopefully VCC didn't ignore me long enough to be placed into the "There's nothing that can be done for you anymore" group. Thank you Clancy's Medical Group for making me feel like my health and well being matters.

Dr. John Clancy is a horrible doctor. Save yourself the time/grief, go somewhere else. Dr. John Clancy is rude, has terrible bedside manner, and doesn't really care about you or your health. He refused service to my CHILD because our family doesn't wear face masks due to the fact that we are medically exempt per the San Diego County Health mandate.

John Clancy is a very kind, patient and direct guy. My insurance only covers me in California, so over the course of 14 days I saw him 3 different times - all for separate issues. Every time he opened the door he did so with a smile and wanted to get to the bottom of my health concerns just as much as I did. Tara Clancy is a STAR! I feel so heard whenever I see her. Both of them together make a really great team and I would highly recommend either of them.
