I looked up, it may not help now but I googled food pantries and there are several in Omaha. Call to see the requirements, but usually you need ID and a piece of mail where you live. There are a couple of places that help with rent one or two times a year. So that may help with money. Salvation army helps with rent and utilities payments I believe and general assistance at Douglas County Health Center at 40th and Center I believe. If you Google shelters in Omaha and call they may be able to help you with places that help. There are emergency shelters in Omaha and Council Bluffs. St. Vincent De Paul assist too. There is housing authority where you can sign up for apartments and they may pay for it temporarily or permanently if low income or disabled. Check with Council Bluffs the city across the river in the state of Iowa because they have help resources also. Call or get a hold of United Way and they can give resources. Usually googling help in Nebraska or Iowa can help.
Yes you can. They are very active in helping with the flood victims. Thank you for asking, and for your support.
Hi Renee. I have done this on the past put I know it's on an individual basis if they know you. They don't allow it if not. From their perspective they don't know if the person could be trying to do something dishonest or not. Allowing another to pick up your pantry is not of the normal. I have also done this for an elderly friend, or during bad weather. Again, extenuating circumstances.
They are having a Christmas pantry for Christmas week. Go to heartlandhopemission.org for more information.
Call them and they will give you all the information
They should help you with a pantry at least once. You can go to Together Inc. off of 24th and Leavenworth to get assistance with your ID as well as an emergency pantry.
Hi Katt. www.heartlandhopemission.com is where you want to go. From their front page, you'll be directed to a short and easy volunteer application to fill out. . After you submit your application it won't be long before someone contacts you.. (usually 5-10 business days. Thank you for your question. God bless
