I would call this a “niche” site. It’s small, but packed with history of point mugu’s missile past, flanked by two legends of naval aviation, the Tomcat and Phantom. The planes are a little worse for wear, but still awesome to see. I enjoyed my visit thoroughly.

Happy coincidence that we had to get off the freeway check the straps on our roof rack items. Kiddos loved it. Hubby who loves top gun geeked out about it 😀

Cool little area along the 101, would recommend. Has some interesting stuff like the US copy of the V-1 and some older submarine based icbms. It also has some jets, and a very good view of military planes landing at the airport, if you are lucky.

Yes it is all outdoors, visible from PCH, and accessible from there after a few lefts. There is a sign on the freeway also indicating what exit it's on. I think it's right before the Channel Islands Blvd. exit.

It's free! Some of the information signs are very faded and it's a small outdoor area with free parking.
