Was interesting to see the history of this palace. I'd say it is more of a palace than a castle. 1st 2 floors are rebuilt to look lovely. Somehow looked more modern to me than the period, but I'm no expert. The upper 3 floors are left in the deteriorated state as of summer 2022. Children's play house which is a mini castle also being remodeled. If you're a craftsman, enjoyable to see this.

This place was so amazing! The castle is being restored and much has, but there are rooms that they have left to show the progress, which is very interesting. Boat tour over was fun as well, lots of cool things to see... Highly recommend this one to see while in the area.

Beautiful place! Romantic story. The castle was left abounded for a long time. They did a great job reconstructing the first and second levels. You may also see how it was before on the upper levels. With a cruise ship, you have two hours to explore the castle and the grounds. They have a gift shop, cafe and lots of places for a picnic. If you are coming from Canada, you need to have a valid passport and ArriveCan with you. There was no lineup to enter the castle, but if you come on a cruise ship, you’ll need to wait 10-30 minutes on a border customs. No pets. No alcohol.

Someone bought it in 1917 from the children but he never did any further work on it. As was reported the bridge authority purchased it in 1977 & has spent greatly in finishing the portion compled to date using funds from the tours

It is an American port so if you are Canadian (not American) you will need a passport. If it is open, even during Covid-19, you will have to self isolate when/if returning to Canada, it is MANDATORY
