I never thought I was a camping person. I lived in this area for years. Drove through everyday to work and never checked it out really. But we went n I really had a nice time. The bathrooms where they don't flush are gross. And stay away from them in my opinion but there are others that do n you can take showers. Just look at the map n get a site near there. Everyone was Friendly! The rangers were very helpful and nice. And yes I would go again.👍 I changed my mind!

Beautiful park. Nice drive through the forest to the boulder field. Lake with swimming area looks nice. Campgrounds look well kept. Park offices are modern and clean and have a very nice educational area to walk through.

First time camping at a PA state park. We had a non electric pet site for $24 (with a discount but also a service fee 🤷🏼) Chose one of the few gravel sites available. Close to the road but no noise after dark. Pit toilets were rough, honestly expected better from a state park. Lots of mixed use trails which was nice. The boulder field was cool. Road in very pot holed.

Nice park. Mostly for small rigs or tents. Some full hookup. Some sites close together. Big rigs should not go by directions given from web from I-80; turn around a boulder was hairy if someone coming at you. Go on rt 115, to 903 to 534. Longer but wider roads.

Yes and yes, but the bike trails are mostly mountain bike trails, and quite technical (aka dangerous). If you're a strong road cyclist, I strongly recommend riding 534 westwards 4 or 5 miles down to the Lehigh river, and then riding the river trail (called the D&L trail) either north or south along the river. Flat, wide trail, beautiful scenery. If you go north you will get to a quaint little town called White Haven with some touristy places and good food (including a bike shop on the trial that serves food). You probably don't want to go further north than that as the trail becomes much rougher and root-ier (versus soft gravel). But you can go south as far as you want. When time comes to get back to Hickory Run, you'll have a serious but doable climb.
Trail entrances normally have a large map you could take a photo of. Individual maps ... not sure.
You can go not camping. What id say 90% at beach etc do... just follow signs to which part u wanted go to...w out pass fr campground may not b able on that particular spot but if not camping there wouldn't b need to. There's grills picnic tables grass areas etc over by beach.
