We were Skiing at Jack Frost Mountain, which is about a mile from the Hotel. Even though we arrived after midnight, the management accommodated us. They corrected an error with a room upgrade, re-arranged for our parking, and held coffee later in the morning for us. It's a comfortable place that ran just $65 a night. Nothing comes close in the price range.

When your getting a cheap hotel in a ski town, you don’t expect it not to be the nicest but atleast clean. Not true here. First we arrived and there wasn’t anyone in the front office or anywhere to be seen. Seemed like the beginning of a horror movie. We had to wait an hour in the middle of a snow storm. We called the phone, no answer, walked behind the counter, nobody. After almost an hour, we looked behind the front desk and found our name and booking on a sheet with the room number next to it and just checked ourselves in and grabbed the key. Later on my husband went back to see if anyone had showed up at the desk, didn’t want someone random just walking in our room. The guy was there now and seemed totally out of it and didn’t understand much of anything that was said. The sink had hairs all over it and stains down the side, didn’t look like it had been cleaned in quiet a while. The door to your room only has a very small lock, no deadbolt, scary movie continues. The room smelled like smoke and had stains and holes on the comforter and the bed. The tv would only play one channel, not the full list as advertised, no football. And that one channel was playing hocus pocus which just made the experience even more creepier. The light fixture had one lightbulb in it. To take a shower, I think I would have been dirtier to take a shower than not. My husband braved it, hot water worked maybe 50% of the time. They advertise free breakfast and that is again false. No breakfast. Which I don’t think I would have dared eat anything from there anyway, a banana or bar would have been nice. The fridge and microwave did work in the room. So if your going to go cheap, atleast you know what to expect. Bring your own sheets, blanket and cleaning supplies.

Stayed in room 106. There is a funky smell that hit me when I first entered. The place looked old and rundown, but I wasn't expecting too much. I had three main issues with this place. First, there's no way to lock the door completely from the inside like with a swing guard or chain latch. There is a deadbolt but that can be opened from the outside with a key. They didn't provide the key to the deadbolt, so I know people who stayed here previously probably didn't have it either to make a copy. I still don't feel completely safe. Second, there was a weird tiny camera looking thing on the TV stand. It's wired to the TV box, so it might just be the sensor for the remote? I still blocked it with an object. Third, there's bedbugs. I literally saw one, and have bites all over my legs after one night. The person at the front desk showed me proof of pest control last done on Feb 25 when I mentioned it at checkout, but it's August now and they are definitely there. The staff is friendly and tries to be helpful, but the whole place needs a lot of work.
