It was so hot out that day& e en hotter for the DEQ Employee. However he was quick & efficient. They have to stay in those small boxed in offices. They should be provided with AC.

The Medford DEQ inspection station is a very good place to start getting your car registered, or transferred, or whatever you need. The employees there seem pretty knowledgeable, and helpful. And it is reasonable, and expedites most DMV related processes. A pretty good and helpful place to go.

Quick friendly service but it's a bear to find if you haven't been before. Google maps can get you close but you will need the airial view to find the right driveway entrance. It's back behind the, i think it's, kobota tractor store.

Anything 20 years or newer needs to get smoged of its being registered in Medford city limits. If it's registered outside of city limits you don't need to worry about it!
10$ for deq, 112$ for renew registration, if you want new plates you need to go dmv.

I'd double check the over 20 year old "exemption" as these things change. If your vehicle is registered in Oregon and DMV has your current address you should receive notices. Better to call them and find out. DEQ check is free if it doesn't pass & they'll provide a printout of what caused the failure. If it needs mechanical work take it to a shop that will run it through DEQ for you after they've done the work. This is a courtesy good shops provide to verify their work and getting the DEQ certificate for you is good customer service. Call around to find a place that does this. I wouldn't waste my time trying to talk a shop into doing it & just move on to one that does. Ones that don't will hopefully think about the lost business.
Tuesday through Thursday. Go there before lunch. So around 12 pm. It gets packed after that. But they're usually pretty fast, so unless you're in a hurry it doesn't matter what time you go.
