I rarely leave reviews, but I felt like this lovely place deserved one! I can’t express enough how much my fiancé myself and our two doggies enjoyed camping at Pioneer Family Campground! It’s very safe, secure, well run by Dave and Sandy, friendly, and peaceful! The bathrooms/showers were very clean, and the campsites and views are beautiful. I will most definitely be coming back for many future visits. Dave and Sandy even delivered a bag of ice to our campsite when we were in need!

To start with we made the reservation online but realized that you couldn’t make reservations for cabins online. When I called they were very helpful to cancel the online reservation and book our cabin. Check in was fast and very friendly We stayed in the pomegranate cabin. Cabin was furnished with dishes and pans. Nice screened in porch that we used at night. Beautiful place easy to access, it was really close to our family event for the weekend. We were busy with family so we didn’t get to use any of the parks or pond at the campground. The only reason we couldn’t give 5 star is: The information in the cabin was outdated for check out. Also we checked the windows (they were supposed to be locked or a $25 fee) 2 were unlocked that we never used. We found items left under the bed from previous guests.

Very nice campground. Was shocked at the size. I live nearby and never even knew it was there. The cabin I stayed in was older but was still very nice. Owners were super friendly and answered any questions I had. Great getaway from home and well kept.

My sister camped here. Noonish check in & yes to firewood sold there
Check in/ check out times depends on the circumstances of each camper. In general check in is in the afternoon and check out is by dusk as long as no one has reserved the site you're on. We are pretty flexible.
No nothing in life is free, checked out never stayed.
We always use pull thru at campgrounds real newbies at pulling RVs. Our new seasonal lot here we lucked out we was able to pull thru on our lot. Not sure how the other lots are. But I'm sure other campers will help you out to figure out how to park it if your thinking about a seasonal site. Everyone are very friendly like family! We have a large lot. We love it here!!! Diamond in the rough!
Weekend sites up front are some pull INS. Hard packed sand. Have seen many homes like yours. You will be fine.
I know they have a playground
Yes, the primitive area is a relatively small wooded area at the top of a hill with at least one water source. Finding level spots is easiest toward the top of the hill. There is room for maybe 4 or 5 sites. It was pretty quiet when we were there.
It's a great place to visit! Alcohol is allowed but just like anywhere you have to be responsible. The owners are wonderful people.
