We walked 40mins each way from the ferry pier. Worth it. Such a tranquil and charming place, with several docks to wander down and the occasional resident pottering next door to look for a neighbor. Each home has tons of charm and personality. I recommend reading up on the colorful history before you go, folks like Stewart Brand (Long Now Foundation, Whole Earth Catalog) and Shel Silverstein once called it home. We saw the famous Owl and many other lovely abodes. Be respectful when approaching for photos.

Very cool. The houses are vibrant in colors with cool designs and architecture and the residents there were very nice and welcoming.
