We spent the day here kayaking, got to see some manatees and diving birds that would follow us as we paddled around the mangroves. No paths to go through here, the water was very calm and warm. Next we went near the north shore and swam. It's a very nice beach with less people than on the Clearwater stretch. $5 parking plus .75 toll w/o Sun pass.

Beach was really kept up and clean. But yep one big butt people. Question is the historical part of it is the underground bunkers and so on. They charge every person $5 the lot of people that's a lot of money the least that they could do is plant some flowers landscape the area around historical part of the fort. There is not one flower to be seen no guides have two signs you can't read I was really looking forward to it. Question is where are the f u n d s being used for . it surely is not going to ground keeping landscaping or anything. It don't matter cuz my eyes were locked onto my friend on to her Landscaping had a very good day

Nice little spot to visit. A little history of the Spanish American War. Nice walking and cycling paths. There's facilities and a nice fishing pier. The beach is beautiful. Check it out if your in the area !! 🐬🐊

Pretty cool fort. You can walk inside and around, but for some reason there are 2 staircases blocked off leading up. So you have to walk allllll the way around the side if you decide to go up. The view is amazing from up top. I almost wish they would open up after dark at night and have a ghost tour.
