Beautiful historic Island to visit . We went swimming in the Gulf of Mexico saw two small sharks, some Redfish, stingrays. . Found some shark's teeth and cool shells. Took the Hubbard's Ferry from the boat ramp at Ft. Desoto park, our Captain and Mate was nice and informative. It was a really good time.

Great island! Only accessible by ferry from Fort de Soto. Two gorgeous beaches, some great trails, an old fort and a ghost town means fun for the whole family. Ferry crew is super chill and friendly. Highly recommended!

Yes. Its great fun. Went October 17th on a ferry.
Yes
You can take the ferry at de soto port!! And yes hiking trails!! Nice beaches!!!!
The egmont ferry runs out of ft Desoto just past the $5 checkpoint. You make a right when it comes to a T. Then about a mile up on left you should see signs. It's right near the dog beach and if you google ft Desoto dog beach it will pop up.
No you have to anchor on the beach
Yes. Tierra Verde marina has rentals. There are certain areas that allow people onshore, mostly on the west side.
Boat only. Its a key
Unfortunately, camping isn't allowed. But it is a lovely place to visit if you have a access to a boat!
Not 100% but pretty sure it is open year round. Again not positive.
Actually it is used as a housing for the pilot service the pilots are the lead boats that guide larger container ships in-and-out of the Tampa Bay area . that's aleast what I witnessed over a week on my boat staying right next to the dock
I believe the Siri is Staley and reservations are not required however you can make them online.
Yes. But keep your eye out on the east side of the island is a long bit were even in the water is nature preserve. No boats their. But everywhere else is good.
It really depends on the day. There is no way to know ahead of time.
I’m here now, and no, it’s perfect today.
Don't see why not. But there are beach areas.
You can go visit but you can't go up there hipster for safety purposes
No. Only open from daylight to sunset. Probably a good question for State Parks.
Pass a grille. Maximo Moorings as well as Tierra Verde or Fort Desoto Park there's a boat ramp.
When I went I took a charter boat out of Tampa Bay in the bay so I would just look at dolphin cruises that go to Egmont key I'm sure you could Google something
