Great mine. Found lots of fun rocks, and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Customer service was fantastic. Tent site was minimalist and pragmatic but perfect for my expectations. Clean bathroom and showers despite being rather in need of some updating. Fantastic rock and gift shop. Bring lunch with you, no food on site.

This place was a bit quieter than the KAO down the road. Found decent amount of rather clear pickers(smaller) didn't get into the rock much though. Just sluicing.... but Dan, the guy running it was awesome, super helpful, fun, and informative. Will go back if I get out that way again.

ace of diamonds is amazing!!! mined for only an hour and found large diamonds... (compared to four hours at Herkimer and only found small ones)... employees are very helpful and rent tools you will need. highly recommend over Herkimer.

We go every year. We found a good amount of nice Herkimer diamonds. Go up top to the brown dirt to mine as well. A great family activity. Bare bones campground though. Not much to do after mining is over at 5 pm. I really loved the gift shop. So many beautiful specimens at excellent prices. Great sluice bag with many lovely specimens for $17.50. Beautiful gifts. Great selection of on topic books.

Very easy if you listen to the guides at the desk. Also check the area up the ridge in the dirt overlooking the area below. Been super lucky up there.
It's open April 1st to Halloween. To avoid ice conditions, frozen rocks don't break and you can't dig. But day 1 of the season you find all the stuff the ice broke out. It's a huge score
Nope, $10 to dig for the day, $5 for children if I recall correctly. Keep everything you find, with various tools available to rent.
I just went to Ace of Diamonds last year, for lodging in a tent space , it's $10.00 a night till 11'59 in the afternoon then another $10.00 bathrooms and showers goes with the check in price. And he rents the tools Hamer and pry bars picks and buckets in side. Tom is a great guy and he will help you as much as possible. Tell him that Darren and Dale Russell sent you . We try to make it their once a year if possible. Have fun. He dose have water and electric hook ups. Have a great time.
I'm sure if u fing huge ones. But most of the smaller ones are so common they won't care
They are next door to each other. We are rockhounds & love Ace of Diamonds because we can drive in other areas to dig on property.
There is a wall area, but expect to work that wall for 5 days in the same spot. But that goes for any mine really. Most of the pockets are already exposed in both mines. If you're going for the day, be there early. I suggest do some sluicing, you'll increase your take home. If you just work the wall, you might get 1. Wall work is for serious folks with serious tools. Good luck.
The campsites in the front are small and faced with mine customers all day. The "back woods" sites are definitely in the woods. The only bathroom is down at the main building at the entrance. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't stay there again unless I was mining.
