I arrived for my appointment almost 30 minutes early. A dejected looking friend of mine was just leaving. I asked, "Why so glum?" She told me DMV wouldn't take the pieces of mail to verify her place of residence. The discrepancy was that some mail was addressed to her in Rockingham and other pieces were addressed to her in Bellows Falls. Both entities have the same zip code, which does cause great confusion among the populace. Anyhow, I asked the young lady behind the glass if I could vouch for my friend because I had known her since high school and knew where she lived. The DMV rep perked right up and slid out a form that I could complete and make everyone's day. While I filled out the form, my friend was processed and happy. Then, the processor asked for my paperwork, because I was next in line. She whizzed through the docs, forms, proof of this, my old that and I, too, was processed! I told the processor that she was impressively competent. She laughed and we all laughed. A better day for all three of us. If she reads this, she'll know that I'm talking about her.

For a small office, they do a fine job here. Staff is typically friendly & patient, and can guide you thru tricky DMV forms. If you go to the window with forms that still need work, no worries. Just sit back down, finish the forms, and staff will do a great job of getting you back in the queue. Parking is free and close by. Location is much better than if it were in Brattleboro. I've been here when it was standing room only, and friendly VT staff and visitors all manage well. Not a bad experience considering what some DMVs are like.

The staff is doing its best, they are polite and helpful, and they are doing a very large volume of work. The location is not ideal, small and crammed, and yes, long waits. I used Springfield several times. It's faster and nicer but I appreciate the convenience of having an office close to Brattleboro.

Yes, they can. If it's important for your estate to have AND between your names, tell the clerk during registration, otherwise I believe they will place a "/" between your name and your wife's. The queue there is often long, but staff does a great job of getting to you.
You can phone them or stop by & ask your question betw appts. VT DMV is pretty cooperative.
