This place is the worst of all the nursing homes. They neglect their patients. They disappear on the weekends. You literally have to take care of your love one yourself. My husband caught sabies and did not receive seizure medication. He was sent to hospital with the same conditions every month, Sometimes every week. Please do not trust this place they smile in your face while they stab you in the back. It's all about a paycheck. I came every day and I saw alot of bad thing's happen not only to my husband to other people as well. I feel so bad for the people who have no one to check on them. We left within three months. This was the worst I have ever seen. So ghetto. They are not professional at all. They lie on you when they don't like you.

I pass by this place everyday on my commute it gives very unclean, not happy vibes. I've met one if the workers who works here and he says to run! Don't even think about working here. I'm taking that as a sign

My mother was at Consulate of St. Pete for almost 4 years! They seem to be the gem of the Consulate system! Mom was in 2 other consulted facilities that one was below mediocre and the other was HORRIBLE!! Overall consulate of St Pete took very good care of mom! There was a few great nurses and cna’s! Of course there was some not so good either! The two women who ran the activities were phenomenal! For the most part the building and mom were very clean! Seemed like the biggest problem was the constant turnover of staff and the use of outside agencies for staffing! There is now a new administrator there now. Ramona and she seems really compassionate to residents needs and it really seems her goal is to make improvements where needed! Sadly mom passed away recently and I will not be able to witness this. Overall mom was treated very well at Consulte of St Pete. It would be nice if consulate corporation could get some of their other facilities cleaned up and better run!

We placed my aunt in this facility about 6 months ago and we couldn't be more happy with our decision. The staff is friendly and very respectful to their residents and families. The holidays are the absolute best here, the staff truly makes the residents feel at home. The facility is always decorated very nicely, residents receive holiday baskets, they play games, the staff dresses up and makes the holiday seasons very nice and engaging for the residents. The staff goes above and beyond for the residents and truly helpful to the family when we call with questions and/or concerns. This facility has done more for my aunt in the 6 months she's been there then her previous facility did in 2 years. I would highly recommend Consulate Health Care of St. Petersburg to assist with your loved ones.

Your length of stay is determined by many factors: your physical condition, any underlying medical conditions, your previous level of independence and where you will go after discharge.
Among others, we offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Physical therapy (PT) examines, evaluates and treats patients with various disorders including musculoskeletal conditions, heart conditions, neurological disorders, wounds, and more. A PT also recommends devices that will assist the patient with function and mobility. Occupational therapy (OT) examines, evaluates and treats patients to afford them improved function in the performance of activities of daily living (ADLs). An OT might train a patient to use medical or adaptive equipment, provide splint fabrication, or perform neuromuscular re-education. OT also includes cognitive retraining associated with ADLs and safety, energy conservation techniques, and sensory deficit compression techniques. Speech therapy evaluates, diagnoses and treats disorders of communication, cognition and language. Sometimes, swallow studies allow for objective assessment of the swallowing function.
The cost of skilled nursing varies depending on where you live, what level of care is provided and what type of accommodations you choose. Most seniors do not usually meet their long-term care needs from any one source. Instead a combination of support private funds, long-term care insurance and government assistance is used to cover the costs. Medicare covers post-hospital, short-term skilled care only and may not cover the cost of ongoing nursing home care. For low-income seniors who meet eligibility requirements, Medicaid might pay a portion of the cost.
Check with the center you are considering and ask them about pet policies. Some centers have pets on site or offer pet therapy that all of the residents can enjoy and interact with.
Yes. Skilled nursing (or nursing home) centers have a full calendar of activities and social events for residents, including art classes, ice cream socials, bingo and game night, prayer service, movie night and much more!
Skilled nursing centers are designed to provide specialized care individuals who have health conditions that require constant monitoring and availability of medical personnel. Skilled nursing centers, also known as nursing homes, provide 24-hour clinical supervision, meals, activities and health management support for their residents.
