I've spent the last 30 minutes calling numbers listed on the VA website and transferred to numbers that no one answers just to reschedule an eye appointment that I received a text about today for an appointment tomorrow. I never scheduled this appointment and no one asked my availablity. Now I can't even get someone on the line to help me reschedule it! This happens all the time with the VA, wrong numbers on their website and people just transferring us veterans without caring if the number actually works!

My experience with the Ophthalmologist and the Optical Store was great!!! I spent less than an hour. I arrived at 230 for 2:45pm appointment on 31 July. I was finished by 3:45pm. Glasses selected and ordered. I appreciate the professionalism from them all.

been in the phone que for 90 minutes with James A Haley VA Tampa optical clinic to make an appt. Difficult to grasp that their phone lines in that dept are that overloaded. After 90 minutes he decided to hang up. Will try another day, maybe such a shame this is the treatment he gets after serving our country. we need to do better.

It says, "people typically spend 1-2 hours here." That is a huge lie! You will wait 2-3 hours past your appointment time just to be seen by the opthamologist, and then when you go to get your glasses there will be 100 people sitting in that tiny little room I'm exaggerating it's only like 16 people but they each take 2 hours to pick out their glasses so, no, it's a whole day affair.

No an appt is required. If is an issue other than eye site, such as injury or infection. The is a new area called Sic Call. It is located next to Emergency on the back of the hospital. You can park and take one of the shuttles or go through the front and they will give you directions. Ask them to write them down. They are a little and windy. Hope you get there.
