I have only great things to say about my birth experience with Sweet Child O’Mine! I will try my best to be short lol. I loved my pregnancy and birthing experience here. (2021)Without have family living in Tampa or near the area, being that I just moved there myself, the Midwives and their team were so supportive even with the tiniest things. Versus going with a doctor and hospital, I felt like my voice and concerns were heard; and my needs were met at SCOM. Most importantly I was advised with empathy! Kim, the head midwife and owner of SCOM was so nice and she paid attention. As my pregnancy got a little complicated near the end, I felt like she held my hand in a sense. The slightest change in my labs, she (Kim) was on it in making sure I was in a safe conditions. Melinda the lab assistant she always seemed to ease my anxiety which was extremely high the last 6weeks of my pregnancy! I connected with everyone that worked there in one way or another Lexi, Nicolle (she’s at a different center now) who assisted me at birth and Glenda (midwife at SCOM)!! Glenda is near and dear to my heart! She believed in me and made me feel like it was going to be ok and it was ok! She tapped into all my holistic beliefs and encouraged them. She delivered my baby! My birth experience, although wasn’t a water birth like I had hope for…It was fast and glorious! I will never choose a hospital birth again if not necessary. It was a blessing to have found Sweet Child O’Mine and delivered my baby girl there.

I recently (March 2022) had my second child with Sweet Child of mine. From my initial visit the entire staff made me very welcomed, loved, and in great care. I was known by my name and not by chart number. This was my first time using a midwife and birth center, so I had a infinite amount of questions/concerns, and the staff took the time to answer my questions/concerns and fully understand my options. Loved this birthing experience and would highly recommend them for all of your prenatal, labor, birthing, and postnatal needs.

This team of ladies is the absolute BEST! they have you and your family's best interests in mind. The care they provide is personalized, natural based, and has taken years to cultivate. I would highly recommend this facility and this team over ANY hospital! They definitely have policies in place to ensure their clients are as safe as possible and as educated and informed of their available options as they can be. The level of care they provide is top notch and full of compassion, understanding, and well worth the investment. I wouldn't have traded my experience here for anything.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience at SCOM. The prenatal care is exceptional and every staff member treated me with respect and care. I never felt my appointments were rushed, and I always felt comfortable to ask questions. The midwife team is so caring and well trained. They helped me navigate the ups and downs of pregnancy while educating me during the process. It was easy to contact them through the online portal if I had a question or concern between appointments. The labor experience was everything I hoped for. Although I was nervous to give birth for the first time, the team of midwives and birth assistants made me feel confident that everything was under control. They truly pay attention to every detail and ensure a safe labor experience while trying to make you feel as comfortable as possible. After giving birth, their care carried on through the postpartum period and they continued to answer my questions about lactation and everything else that comes with a new baby. I highly recommend SCOM to anyone considering having a natural birth with a team of attentive, caring staff that will make you feel at home.

How soon after a positive home test can I get a pregnancy test and consult at this office? I'm 12 DPO and don't know my cycles due to being on birth control.

You can come in any time for a free pregnancy test. We are open Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm. If you call the office, they can arrange a consultation. Usually we have weekly consultation appointments available. Depending on your insurance, if you need a blood test or ultrasound the midwives may be able to provide you with the options on those services. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Most moms typically stay at the birth center about 4 hours after the birth. As long as everything is stable with mom and baby they can go home. We will keep you longer if needed.

Do you work under a real doctor?

They have licensed midwives. I would recommend going to the free consultation to see if it fits your needs.
