Brett is the best. I would recommend without hesitation. If you want to learn true horseman ship on a horse that actually responds to your commands wether they be good or bad this is the place for you. Continuous support and encouragement with a wealth of knowledge coming from Brett can only lead to success. Beginner or experienced then this is the place to be.

I've been going here for up to about 4-5 years now. Bret is a very good man and a wonderful teacher. He always cares about everyone's safety and their happiness with all the horses.

I am so happy to have found Flying L Stable. I have always loved animals , and especially horses ,although I wasn’t lucky enough to get to be around horses growing up. Recently, I decided that it was never too late to work with horses and started volunteering 6 months ago at a therapeutic horse facility. It has brought a lot of joy to my life and I started to learn all about the amazing world of horses and boy is there a lot to learn! I contemplated whether I should take horse riding lessons and somewhat anxiously wondered, should I start horse riding in ‘middle’ age, blah blah blah, all those fear based thoughts ran through my head .... yet I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. I kept googling places for lessons and nothing seemed quite right for what I was looking for. I had taken an interest in horsemanship and really understanding and ‘feeling’ the horse and learning how a horse thinks, but everyplace I looked up just seemed to be places teaching dressage etc, not that there’s anything wrong with that but it didn’t feel quite right for what I was looking for. I kind of figured it just wasn’t out there anywhere near me to be honest. Well , serendipitously and eventually, out of the blues I came across a listing of horse riding places and saw Flying L Stable listed and liked the reviews, I called and spoke to Brett and was even more impressed and felt ,”Yes , this is what I am looking for, a whole horse experience, really teaching how to ride and horsemanship etc”. It’s a bit of a drive for me but so so worth it. Well, it’s been only three lessons in and what an adventure so far. Coming from absolutely no experience, it’s been way more challenging than I thought, but I am so happy that I chose THIS riding school and Brett, in fact, I can’t believe how blessed I am to have a teacher like Brett. He is blessed with patience, seemingly unlimited, a mark of a true gifted teacher, and answers my many questions so kindly. It’s challenging , yet exciting and fun, enhances your confidence, helps you face fear and so much more. I have already learned so much and am so excited to continue this journey with him and his beautiful horses. He obviously loves and respects his horses which I feel is very important, and is a true leader and teacher, something that everyone who works with horses I believe should learn. Horses are just the most amazing awe inspiring animals, they bring you so much more than you can ever imagine, and I believe that like anything else in life, you get what you put in, and when you have heart it pays off. Brett has heart , I believe I have heart, and I am happy that I found Brett to be my teacher/mentor, and I look forward to all I will learn and already am learning from him and his horses. I remember the first lesson when I felt so incompetent and he told me “You tried and that’s what matters”. That meant a lot. It’s my dream to have my own horse one day and I couldn’t ask for a better foundation that what I am getting with Brett at Flying L Stable ! I highly recommend .

Bret Lamdin does an incredible job teaching. My 9 year learned how to saddle up and ride when she was 6 years old. He is incredibly patient and kind.
