I love Lake Cares! The volunteers are very sweet, friendly and eager to help people. They keep the lines of cars moving fast, make sure each individual has what they need, and animals too. They seem genuinely interested in how you're doing that day, how you've been feeling. Not to mention the food that Lake Cares gives out is incredibly helpful to people like me! I'm on disability, and have a very low income. I get a very small amount of food stamps, and I have to calculate every single thing that I put in my cart at the store, and decide what I need more. Lake Cares makes my life (and many others) so much easier. It is so nice to be able to have an actual meal to cook, that isn't all processed garbage. I use the meat, fresh vegetables, and fruits to make healthy meals. I'd never be able to afford all of the meats and items that I get from Lake Cares if I had to buy these things at a store, so I really appreciate all of the help that Lake Cares provides. They also let you pick out toiletries (if available) , and cat/dog food if you have pets which is also a big help. I definitely recommend Lake Cares if you're having trouble making ends meet and don't have enough food for your family. It helps tremendously.
