An honest mechanic never runs out of work. I've never seen John not having customers waiting. Honest, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and always pleasant.

I took my 2008 Kia Rio to Budget Auto Repair this morning. Do not be dissuaded by the outside of the shop. It was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had in LA dealing with auto repair shops. They are trustworthy (which means a lot in this town), professional, polite, reasonable prices and speedy! I definitely will be going back there for any auto repair needs.

Good until something went wrong. They forgot to attach the undercarriage for and it got wrecked on my way home. They told me it was my fault because i drove the car after they forgot to attach the undercarriage (yes you read that right) and then wanted to charge me $300 to fix it it. There was also garbage in my car. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. Pay an extra 5% somewhere else and get someone more professional. Some if not all the good reviews were from before, a LOT has changed with this place. Pay attention to the bad ones.

I went to budget auto repair, I called in advanced and the person on the phone told me a quote of $850, and he insisted to bring it in and they’d take care of me. (Yes I got second opinions, and they said around the same price) So I did go with them, and they had my car for 3-4 days, and I received a call from them saying “it was a mistake, the price is going to be $1,750” almost $1,000 more. When I said I couldn’t pay that and explained that I was quoted a different price, they pretended that it did not exist. And they tried to charge me $500 just to get my car released. And that basically twisted my arm to go with their services. When I get my car, it’s okay for 2 days, the check engine light comes on and starts running funny. I take it back and they say it’s a new problem, and they did not see this problem in their “diagnostic” just a couple of days ago. So now I’ve spent that much on getting my car fixed and it magically has new problems right after leaving this business. And while I was there i heard someone from management stating they were having really slow business, and they were struggling. And I do not believe in coincidences. I would not recommend this auto shop to anyone, and would hate for this to happen to someone else that would be willing to pay and them being taken advantage of because they think they can just do what they want. Just stay clear
