I am in shock of how bad the service is. After an hour of waiting outside the guy who gave me service was so rude and aggressive I could not believe it. Completely ignored what I was told to bring with me on the phone and basically told me to leave. Zero help, zero willing to give any needed information.

Best time to go to Civic Drive in Walnut Creek is mid to late morning or late afternoon. I was in a short line for about 15 minutes, outside the building. The security guard was letting in 2-3 people every 5 minutes to get a number inside the office. Thereafter I waited about another 10 minutes after I got my number, to be called to one of the 5 open windows. All in all took me only 30 minutes to conduct my business and leave. There is a restroom inside. Plenty of free onsite parking available, bring a mask. Not like the DMV at all!

Your phone line service agents are completely incapable of human respect in public service. Looking at the reviews, clearly I'm not the only one with the experience. This is the 2nd time I've called and had the service agent hang up on me. The least they can do is spare my time and let me know they can't help me over the phone so I don't spend my break time trying to get in contact with a trace of human professionalism at a government agency.

Since you are aware of the myriad of glitches to your phone service (the main number warns you your call might drop, can you imagine????) , why don't you open a chat line. I have been trying to call you for 2 hours. (not the up to 15 minutes when it's busy like you profess) My favorite glitch is when it just rings incessantly. My second favorite is being on hold for 27 minutes and THEN it rings forever until finally it says to try your call later. You could maybe do that before the 27 minute hold? One time, I merged the calls so I could explain the incessant ringing--silly me thinking that civil servant might want to report the problem????--and the agent HUNG UP ON ME WHEN AFTER TWO HOURS OF TRYING TO DO THIS I FINALLY CONNECTED. This is my government at it is apparently at its very, very worst. Congrats guys. And every 30 seconds they interrupt with "Thank-you for holding. We'll help you as soon as we possibly can." How about being able to make an appointment online besides manning a chatline? There are a hundred ways for you to improve. That's what taxpayer dollars are supposed to be for. Not so people get a well-paid government job and stop thinking. Besides the over two hours to get to the Walnut Creek office, I spent 70 minutes trying to get through the national office who knew nothing and told me to call you. It's a sad day for this country when the richest country in the world can't get it together.

how do I shedule an appointment for the social security office in Walnut Creek, CA?
Appointment for Medicare tomorrow in Walnut Creek ca
After waiting two + hours on hold, I found out it’s first come, first served; since the pandemic, SSA offices take appointments. 😳
i need a new ss card
Best time for me is after 3pm. I know the staff wants to go home so they tend to pick-up the pace, as going home is there incentive.
Don't have birth certificate
Can I change my new address on line or do I need to go in person?
I'm sorry. I don't know. I went because I had to get a replacement Soc. Sec. card.
Um...I think you just do it online or over the phone. The office I went to takes walk-ins too.
How do I go about getting my 1099 and my wife 1099 for filling my taxes?
Yes
You have to close the account you don't want anymore then call social security and let them know about the other account or they will send you a direct express card and your money won't be directly into your new account then there will be a delay with your money .
It is hard to get appointment thru phone. You can visit the office in person without appointments.
No. You could just walk in.
They are not scheduling appointments just walk-ins.
Unfortunately everything is by appt. They don't answer a lot of the times so you just have to keep trying if you want to go in person. If it's just a replacement card it's better you just do it online. Hope that helps!
You should call to the number listed her.
Most everything is now on line. You have to have a special circumstance in order to qualify for an appt. You call and they will determine whether or not you are able to get 1. I had to wait for over 3-4 weeks to get in. And my special circumstance was that the Ss card I was trying to get was for my minor child. I was in and out. The security guard was nice to me.
Call SSA walnut Creek office, Schedule a appointment,
You can call then and schedule a phone appointment. They are still not doing face to face meetings. I even had to schedule a time to drop off documents. The security guard let's you enter to drop the envelope into the slot and only 1 person is permitted at a time and you have to have a scheduled appointment.
Yes you can. But better call ahead and schedule a drop off window with them before you go. Bring ID with you and only one person allowed in at a time inside the drop-off lobby. They will provide envelopes in 2 sizes, a large (letter size) and a medium (half letter). But there's no adhesives, so I'd recommend you to bring a glue stick or something just for security. When you arrive at the front door that's outside to the side of the main building entrance, just stand there and a security guard will see you and open the door when there's space inside.
Call the LOCAL number for the office. They will schedule the appointment for you. I just did that last week
Yes appointment when I was there no entry though. A worker at the facility told me no one person's is allowed in building. 2 weeks ago
I had to call the office number listed and wait on hold until a representative scheduled my appointment.
Call in the evening around 3pm or 4pm.
The web says yes but it was not true. So who knows?
Is there a drop box or PO Box to mail?
Ideally it should take 2 weeks. If it is more than 3 weeks you may want to give a follow up onto the 1800 number and check.
Call?
Call
Call & ask
You can do it online. ssa.gov/onlineservices then go to Manage Your Account
I'm not sure about that. But you can call the toll free phone number and talk to a representative, they will schedule appointment, depending on your need. All the best
I don't understand what you are saying
Take in your photo ID and either your last tax form or vaccination record from your doctor, they no longer accept birth certificates
I don't think so
You have to make sure that the deaths was reported to the Social Security Administration. There is a report that needs to be filled out and a lot of times the funeral home will do that for you. If you know that it has been done then you can take a copy of the death certificate and either make an appointment or go in to the office and check in at the kiosk to get a number. They will call you up to a window and give you the forms to fill out
You can make an appointment at their website socialsecurity.gov or you through a phone call
its scam dont worry
Bring birth certificate and ca id yes you walk in and you should be there by 815 they open at 9
Not that I know of
Call the number that is found online.
Or by phone from what I remember.
You need to call them, sorry no helpful answer here.
I would say not Monday. The Social Security Department is open till 4 in Walnut Creek Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday. It closes Wednesday at 12. The best time to go though is sometime towards closing time because then they have to process you before they can leave. They'll start to move quicker if it's that late. As for the best day I want to say don't go Monday and maybe Friday might not be a good day too but I'm not sure on that one. Hope that helps you. ☺
Call them, sorry we can't help, Although we're quicker to get back to you.
In the divorce papers does it say you get 50% of his social security or a private retirement because when my mom divorced my step dad she thought the same thing but it was actually his retirement from his union usually unless your married and your and you spouse passes away if it is more then your benefits
Go to the kiosk, fill out your info and you will be provided a ticket with a number. Listen and watch for your number to be called. Takes about 1 hour. Bring a valid Gov't ID.
Go to Google search, say "call Social Security", tell them which office you want to schedule an appointment in & you're done. When I scheduled an appointment it was 6 weeks out. I found it was just better to go and wait in line.
You may wanna call them, sorry.
If you don't want to wait a few hours the answer is yes.
Schedule an appointment, get your needed documents in order and go see them.
There is a parking lot at this address, it is busy, but few spots are usually available.
Call them
No. Takes 2 weeks to get it in the mail
Call them this is a forum not the official website.
Give them a call.
You can request one online at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount or in person at a local social security office. You'll need to fill out the replacement form and provide a photo ID and proof of birth/citizenship with either a birth certificate/naturalization paperwork or a US Passport/passport card
You can also call them to schedule one.
Either
Appointments will save you time. Schedule one.
You need to give them a call @ their 800 number.
Best thing to do is make an appointment with them or go nearest office and request a new card, you are allowed to have ten ayear..as per their limit.
