I LOVE THE TILDEN LITTLE FARM. ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES TO TRAVEL TO - TO ESCAPE THE BUSY - CHAOS OF SAN FRANCISCO CITY LIFE AND ESCAPE TO CHILL & RELAX WITH THE FARM ANIMALS. I ALWAYS TAKE A CASE OF ROMAINE LETTUCE. WHY? THE CHICKENS, GOATS & ANIMALS LOVE LETTUCE!

Lovely little gem! Enjoyed feeding the animals and hiking around a bit. Park Ranger gave my 9 yr old a junior ranger badge!

Little Farm at Tilden Park is a great place to bring city slicker little tikes to keep it country. You can just walk right up and see farm animals like cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, goats, and sheep. They are tame enough to pet and visitors are even allowed and encouraged to feed them! Instructions online and signs on site ask us to feed the animals only lettuce and celery. I think they even have times for petting or other educational events. Looks like they have a volunteer program for taking care of animals; I saw a few kids bathing the cow all wearing the same t-shirt. The grounds are spacious with a couple barns and pens, then a walking trail up the hill that goes around larger pastures. The bathrooms are clean, and there’s an additional hand washing station. Much of the area is also wheelchair accessible. We enjoy lunch at a nice grassy area, at the adjacent Tilden Nature Area Visitor Center. And there’s a playground outside the farm area next to the parking lot. It’s a popular place, go early.

We love this area. Quiet and peaceful. Nice place to have fun with the kids, feed the animals, walking along the trail and breath eucalyptus air. Highly recommend for visiting. Don’t forget to bring a bunch of celery or lettuce😉
