The waterfall was an amazing view with the cave right above it, the water was freezing yet refreshing on a hot day , sadly both caves on the trails require a permit for cave entrance of any sort, the hike from the parking area to the waterfall was very overgrown by nature and needs attention a.s.a.p...but well worth the trip, approaching the waterfall and cave above it reminds me of a fairy tale in real life, the view is very soul n mind consuming, very lovely place!! The hike in the woods was poorly marked however yet not too challenging, would recommend for a beautiful place to sit n enjoy a picnic with a fairy tale view !

Please stay out of the caves not only for the physical integrity of the cave, but for the ecosystem within as well. Hibernating bats can die from disturbances as well as the presence of white nose syndrome in North America. Cave salamanders use the pools and rock cover to lay eggs. Not only are these animals important to preserve, but your safety is important as well. Conditions inside the caves can be hazardous. High water and loose stone can cause injury or death. Please use caution and your better judgement to preserve Cave River Valley.

Nice little hike down to a marshy area with placards about an old mill and a picnic table
