I hadn't been since I was a kid. It was very interesting and so beautiful. They host a few demonstrations, interact with the crowd and answer many questions. Just before you go into the village there is a large area for picnic, play, etc. Lots of beautiful trails, large restrooms, and a concession stand. Once you go into the village no dogs aloud. Each place has at least a few steps - 3 floors and many have narrow spaces, strollers or anything of the sort just won't work.

For the most part my time here was exceptional. Minor inconveniences caused the 4 stars. Trails are well kept, staff top of their game. But by far best part of my time here was a guided hike by Morgan(DNR) and speaking with Rona at the Pioneer Village. Their love of this park and history shows me just how special a place this truly is.

Best kept state park with lots to do for anyone. Stayed at campground. Clean and working facilities. Good check in process, efficient and knowledgeable staff people. Great hike bike loop to lake, nature center, pioneer village with old mill. Immersed in forest. See the full starry sky at night 🌠. Hike trails, MTB trail. Caves and boat rental seasonal.

Been coming here over 20+ years and never get tired of this beautiful place! It is by far the best state Park in Indiana. There is so much beauty and history here. The village is amazing and so much knowledge of time past. The caves are on another level cool! So much this place has to offer and it grounds me every time I step foot here. Being connected with all of nature's beauty is something you don't wanna miss out on. Unplug.. and relax at SpringMill State Park 🏞️. You won't regret it!!!

I know people who camp there and wouldn't leave him home. They are pet friendly as long as you keep the maintenance on your dog and is leashed. Several hundreds of people visit and camp at Spring Mill in a yrs time and alot just visit or trail walk with their dogs. I suggest you have the shots kept up.

We will be visiting in a couple weeks, curious about the tick activity for the area? Any recent or regular visitors have an insight? TIA

There is probably a good chance that if it is a day trip and you are in village, pool, general area of the caves, etc. that it will not be a problem. If you are going to hike, you probably need some Tick Defense and off. Always best to have it just in case. We are finding all sizes of ticks in the area.
