The cabin we stayed in was wonderful! Well maintained and it had heat, which was a plus. The campgrounds and bathrooms are very clean. There are so many trails and lakes/ponds to explore. We will definitely be back!

They'll threaten to arrest you for camping at their campground (quietly, disturbing no one, just camping and enjoying the quiet environment away from everyone). Can you make that make sense? Yeah, they couldn't either, just kept saying the explicitly-marked campground (with fire rings, pit toilets, and a sign that says "primitive campground") isn't a campground (that's called gaslighting btw) and that I'd been there a week and a half (I've been here now four days, which the camp host could confirm, they swung by three days ago, said hi and invited me to use the different facilities they pointed out around the park). Don't give these bigots your money. Clearly the park's being grossly mismanaged, from the open discrimination to the pondfuls of dead fish. Update: Tried to talk with the camp host to get some clarity for the unwaranted and genuinely confusing "wake up call". They flipped me off instead 🙃 Stomach-turning, that these are the elders of the community, that refuse to even take responsbility for their own job as a park host or their own conduct. For incredible shame.

This facility was previously known as Panther Creek, but a former govenor's name was added later as a state facility. The place looks a bit like farm country, because agriculture makes useful prep for wildlife, but some acreage is given a prairie treatment. Man made lakes and ponds are stocked and well maintained, but no powerboating/skiing is allowed. There are small boat and kayak/canoe access, but oddly at least the largest lake does not allow belly boats. None have swimming. There is campsite camping and picnic shelters for day use.

A very neat place. There are some hiking and biking trails. Lots of areas to fish and boat around. We saw a few kayakers out paddling around. The trails in summer are very buggy. Overall it's fun to drive and walk around at
