1. Why are all the reviews several years old here? 2. Tried to call multiple times for nusiance dog barking, waited from 5 to 20 minutes starting at 10am on July 27, 2022. No one ever answered. I finally sent an email, hope I get a response. 3. Sounds like the animal shelter in Long Beach (SUCKS)

No one answers the phone, waited 20 minutes then hung up. What does one do with a dead dog found on the Blvd and it isn't yours? I'd love to find out but NO ONE WILL ANSWER THE PHONE!

The people were very nice. You can see how much they like the animals in their care. They explained the process patiently. It's in a park and what we could see of the facilities was clean and appealing.

Picked up a stray dog from my neighborhood because Animal Control couldn't come out. Called the facility and they asked if I could bring the dog in but when I arrived, I was charged $80 to turn in a stray. The staff acted like it was my …

What do I need to adopt a dog?
Yes Cats and Dogs now it's kitten season
You will have to call the shelter tomorrow morning and find out I don't remember
They don't perform surgeries for the public, but you can go there and pick up a voucher with proof of residency.
Don't take her. Let her rest at home, no one from animal control can bother you. All you will get is a late notice.
Yeah they won't do anything at all.Fankly U going down there 2 complain or even calling doesn't do anything.I'm not being rude I'm only being 100%real&honest with U.Really what could they do4 barking anyways? It's not like they'll put a dog down4 barking nor should they ever do such a thingThe only thing that could be done about barking is if the owner of that dog would care enough2put the much needed time into either training the dog themselves or going& paying2have their dog professionally trained. Now a days u can honestly either Google how2train your dog or U can youtube it4 even better self education on dog training. Its pretty sad how very little it takes 4a person2educate themselves on simple dog obedience training&it's not difficult2learn& implement in the daily lives of your pet,Youtube offers a plethora of different educational videos on their streaming service. But there's so many pet owners who R either lazy or dont care& HAVE NO COMMON COURTESY.!Thats apparent!
Yes call local shelter to get an animal control officer there
Yes 😞
If you live within the city limits yes they do
Idk... But I do know is they won't even open the doors to you unless you have an appt...I was there last week and they were really strict

Like Answer the question Posting publicly Is the pitbull aggressive to you?Has it ever been aggressive towards anyone? It's NOT THE BREED THAT SHOULD BE THE ISSUE, PITBULLS HAVE A BAD REPUTATION DUE2THE IGNORANCE OF THEIR OWNERS.Any dog can be aggressive ANY BREED ANY SIZE if U have an owner who molds that aggression in them or if they don't get properly taken care of or trained. Pitbulls R the most loving breed of dog I've ever owned or helped to rescue. Now if your neighbors dog is a defiant threat2U,Ur family or neighbors&U've gathered proof of this then U'd have something2be concerned about&then U could take it further but just because U'r neighbor has that breed doesn't mean anything.Not2mention the fact U could be causing issues where there's no issue2begin w/why would U do that? The landlord may say no pitbulls&that may be the case4regular tenants but4ppl who have either a"Therapy Dog"or a "Emotional Support"dog w/certification, that covers them.
And you can prove they all shots up to date
I dont think there is a way to unless it is a foster then I think u can
Check LB animal control, wide variety of all dogs.Including many puppies .Very clean and staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.
I believe it cost me $60 to surrender a cat years ago...

It's not much, but you need to prove that it has a current rabies vaccination
It means they were spayed or nuetered, given their shots, and returned to the community. The ear tip helps other rescues know that these cats are already fixed. Feral cats don't often get adopted. This gets them back in their community, but unable to make more kitties.
Call them directly anonymously they will take your report. Or used to go Long Beach app. You might also call the SPCA who also have investigators. Don't wait!
I believe the City of Long Beach has special accommodations for homeless people to license their dogs. And get shots and I believe there is even a food program for dogs help homeless people.
Can't verify that it's 7 days but that sounds right. If the animal isn't claimed by owner or selected by a rescue group then it is euthanized.
They will kill them. They're over crowded.
No, don't think so. Bring proof of vaccinations. If your puppy is old enough for a rabies shot, bring proof of rabies vaccination. Also bring proof of spay/neuter - dog tags are cheaper for an altered dog/cat.
Look through long beach lost and found cats and dogs.
Cat or a dog? Around 25.00 donation for our Hercules our when we adopted him (kitty) 48.00 for a dog adoption.
We're not a non-profit, but yes, we are in favor of no-kill policies. If you were asking about the Long Beach Animal Shelter, no they are not a no-kill shelter, but we are hoping to change that.
No It is a pound where animals are surrendered and stray animals are kept.
Wow. That's sad. I hope everything worked out 4 you, this is an older post and I just saw it. That's sad. R u saying somehow they got your dog and b4v you could go retrieve it they adopted it out & it was actually 13 yesterday old and not 7 years old? Were u trying to get him or her back? Was it a mistake that they retrieved your dog in the 1st place? Then they only held it 4a week before adopting it out? Did I follow you correctly? Sorry I just don't want to assume anything. I tried good to know how LB animal control or shelter works so I know to be extra careful to not have to have any issues in the future. Thanks
go on their website
