I rented a car from this location and had a pleasant experience. They are very professional and friendly. Had no problems when I had to extend my days. The prices are excellent as well. No complaints at all. Thank you for all your help

I cannot say enough good things about this Santa Monica branch of Avis. I will forever rent from here. They are all pros and went out of their way to be helpful and got us into a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. I am attaching a photo. We had trouble with our European credit card and they found solutions and solved our problem. I recommend them very highly.

This car rental location should be the last place on everyone’s list of car rental spots in the Santa Monica area! If I could, I would give negative 5 stars for this Avis location!!! We booked to pickup a category 1 car at 5pm, we were there at 4:45pm, raul hernandez made sure we couldn’t get the category 1, even though there was a category 1 parked on the lot; raul started with one story/excuse after another - he started with; “It’s late in the day, we’re closing, there is a category 2 right by the driveway”. I said I booked a category 1 for pickup at 5pm, it’s 4:45 I’m here earlier?! He then went onto another excuse, “I can’t give you the category 1, it’s not clean”, even when the category 1 had a ‘Clean’ sign on the Center console; (raul and all employees were not complying with any other Covid requirements, no one was wearing masks, no one was social distancing) and no hand sanitizers in sight! I said that’s fine, I can see it’s cleaner than the category 2; raul started saying you have booked the category 2, I pulled up the reservation to show him i booked category 1 for pickup at 5pm. I then reminded him that my status means I should get my preference, at which point he said “take it or leave it”! Furthermore, raul had marked the tank as full, after I drove out the driveway, I noticed the tank is at 1/4 and NOT full! Also the category 2 car I was forced into is so filthy it stinks, car is extremely banged up and an extremely awful/filthy experience, (especially given raul was forceful about providing a clean car)! Raul Hernandez is an unprofessional individual who is rude, obnoxious and needs to learn how to provide good service for Avis’s loyal customers. He doesn’t seem to care about his business or Avis’s reputation! I’ll never give this location any business. I’ll also be writing to the BBB to share my experiences.

Raul and the staff at this Avis location are customer service oriented and even go out of their way to be helpful, get you the best deals and in my case even willing to take time making calls to corporate offices to make sure their customer (Me) was satisfied. Five Stars!

You'll be fine with your license. Obviously need a debit or credit card too at the desk for the payment. They're a very good company, but I would recommend not renting from the airport itself. Get an uber or taxi to one separate from the airport, you'll find that it works out cheaper. This isn't just Avis, but all of the rental companies. Enjoy your trip.
The prices are without insurance. You can add insurance to the rental.
You should call Avis and ask. Most are automatic.
