While this place has a cute theme and a general fun vibe the food was considerably mid for the price. They sell this “family dinner” and it is advertised as $19. It is advertised and sold in an extremely misleading way. We were told that it would be $19 total and not $19 a plate. They are purposely misleading with this and know it. They say “it’s a family meal for $19” and we were left completely shocked when the check came out. Ultimately the soup was the only star of the dinner. The bread basket given to us was bad bread and the brisket was primarily fat. I do not feel that the food was good enough for the price we paid at all. I just don’t think their food is for everyone. Incredibly mediocre.

Delicious meals! We ordered the special which the menu said was $19 but were charged $26. Server said it was an up charge. She probably should’ve mentioned that in advance. Family style meals were delicious. I would have liked to have two pieces of bread instead of just one. Prices were a little high but typical of the area. This was one of our favorite meals though.

Stayed at the campgrounds and Ate dinner at the restaurant. If your in the area, make the time to eat at Johnson's. It's an awesome time capsule inside the Dinning hall. The special of the day was Trout. I would drive the hours from California just to go back and have the Trout again. What a cool spot. It will be on my list of places to come back and bring others. Thanks for the good memories.

the service was great, and the food tasted wonderful. love that they say it is made from scratch! my fewer than 5 stars is because of portion size and pricing. i am not sure if things changed after the pandemic to make up some sort of cost, but the portion to cost ratio didn't seem to add up. having never been to glacier and not having piles of cash, i just felt a little cheated. paying almost $14 for an open faced BBQ with a bowl of soup seemed a bit much. almost $4 for what seemed like a literal one scoop of huckleberry ice cream didn't seem right either! but we did it all because when you stay in St Mary, this is about your only food option available. i left with a good taste in my mouth but still feeling hungry, and for about $40 for two, that just shouldn't happen. again, food tasted really good, but i wish there was more of it if you are going to stick with those prices.
