Cool spot to bring your rig and do some 4x4 off-roading
Fstarocka Burns
great place to ride - beginner to advanced! very pretty esp in spring and wonderful breeze going thru most days :) Pic was my first ride on a dirt bike in 30 years - back in the game!

Great spot to hit for basically any off-road vehicle SxS, Dirt bikes, Jeep's, trucks and even crossovers can enjoy. The staging area has a few routes for you to take depending on difficulty. You can find some really great challenging lines right now that should test any rigs capabilities. The views are really amazing here in all directions. Plenty of cool places to stop and enjoy the scenery. Generally entered from Vazquez Truck Trail to meet at staging area which comes in handy if you have a trailer or a group. Entering from Bouquet Canyon should give you a good challenge if you want to apply yourself. You can wander your way to the staging area and exit the normal entrance. The very first obstacle is a slippery rocky slab that will make you have to use the locker. First time here expect to spend 3-6 crossing over the trails and exiting. Speed runs can be done as quick as 45 mins or sooner.

Not many paths for cars. Mostly small trails for ATVs or Dirtbikes though. There’s one path that takes you up very high but it’s extremely narrow and the drop is steep. I would definitely not recommend this place for beginners. Even if you’re pretty good, I’d recommend you look elsewhere first.

Just drive slow and you should be fine. Don't pick up a lot of speed and make sure you lower the tire pressure. I lower my tires to 15 - 20 PSI..
Yes you can. Some trails are motorcycle only though. Roughly a 50/50 split I'd guess.
It's not accessible, it's gated and it's constantly being patrolled as is a water reservoir, just drive up on bouquet canyon and you will come across it, 👍
Yes
What’s a fire road?
Just need the park pass. It's 5 dollar at the gas stations near by.
Yes stick to the main roads and you will be fine. Agree watch for all traffic.
If your going from the 5freeway to the 14 get off sand canyon then make a left on it. Go straight until you hit Sierra cayon then make right on it. Keep going up Sierra highway your going to pass a paintball field, keep going after couple of minutes it's going to be on your left. It's so easy to see..
You usually don't need a pass unless you park (just don't walk away from your vehicle) or if a ranger stops you (mostly on the weekends).
You need the pass if you want to avoid a ticket from the Ranger. Otherwise you can drive on in and take your chances. You can buy a pass at the gas station south of Rowher Flat on Sierra Hwy.
Yes, in the staging areas, there are picnic tables and bathrooms 🚻.
There are perhaps 2 areas, mostly uneven downhill trails on the end side of the mountain, that present difficulty for ANYone... Other than that, you'll be fine.
Yes you will be good. This a not s bad trail at all.
Yes you need a green sticker to ride year round, red sticker is only part of season
The train is rough in some places. Like parking areas. You might have more fun going to Gorman California
You should be fine with your Jeep.
I've been going there for years now and the only thing the rangers have given me trouble is for not having a spark arrester on my motorcycle exhaust and not having the Los Angeles National Forest day pass. Now about having the bike registered. Some rangers do give you s*** for it. Some don't.
Yes, but getting to the off road area requires traveling on a dirt road for 2.5 miles.
Go left, up the hill, when in doubt, pin it
yes
Yes, I just visited last week.
No, however there are companies that bring rentals vehicles by reservation, but not renting them at the spot.
The trails are open and not close to the fires
Its possible but i would NOT recommend it
I've seen mountain bikers out there before, I don't believe there's any rules against it. Just know dirt bikes don't require much trail maintenance. These are generally very rocky, with big loose sections and large water breaks. Most people also ride dirt bikes faster up hill than down.
There's a Mobile gas station on Sand Canyon exit. You can get a day permit... Should be no more than 10 bucks.
They close it during severe weather events. It's usually open after a little rain and snow. It was recently closed around New Year's with the big storms then and reopened on the 6th. They will close the gates, the only way to know in advance is calling the ranger station.
You need an Adventure Pass ($5/day) or a National Park Pass to park. You can get an Adventure Pass at Big 5, etc. You can't get them at Rowher. Most of the time you won't see Rangers checking, but you'd be taking a chance. You don't need a pass to drive the trails, just is you leave the vehicle parked.
Hector Vega, a Corolla can go up Rowher Flats Staging Area one. Bumpy yes, but it's just a fire road to the Stage area 1 where there are rock obstacles..ots open day and night all day every day. Have fun, be safe and stay on designated area. If you want to look me up on instagram @Pinnacle4x4ohv I am the jeep and truck club founder.
Passes are sold at the Mobil station off the freeway on Sand Canyon or Wal-Mart.
Depends on how good you are talking to rangers.
There is different trails. I would recommend going with another person. There are easy trails to hard trails.
Just saw one when I was there for a few hours.
Yes ...at the top of rowher flats but its not much snow plus you will need 4x4 to get too it..better to drive at mountain high
Idk what he's talking about but we had a group of over 10 trucks out there yesterday and it was open
Yeah, but best to call the local ranger station to check, especially after rain.
Yes. Open 24 hours. Would only be closed in an emergency.
Yes, it has 24 hr. access.
It's green sticker only right now but I'm not even sure if it's open right now. I've tried to ride there twice in the last several months and both times the gates were locked. The last time I tried was a few weeks Ago. I'm not sure who you contact to find out but I would double check before you make the trip. Happy riding!!!
Per vehicle, however if you purchase one annual pass at full price you can get a second vehicle annual pass for $5.
The forest service website shows retailers that sell passes, I typically pick mine up from Big 5.
Yes, overnight camping is allowed in the staging areas, believe it's a maximum 14 day limit, and must have and display us forestry adventure pass on parked vehicles.
Dude it's big enough for a month trip lol
