Even though I grew up in West Virginia, I had never heard of this cavern. My 8 year old son and I were completely fascinated! It's definitely a must see and pictures don't do it justice. Seeing and feeling rocks and calcite that were millions of years old is unexplainable... go check it out!

Really liked the self guided tour. A lot of cave tours feel rushed as you have to keep with with the guide while still admiring the cave features. This tour you could go at your own pace, read the informative signs, and take as many pictures as you want. The path was paved, with a lot of stairs. All the stairs had at least one side with wooden railings to hold onto if needed.

It was awesome. I do love exploring the Wild and Wonderful, Almost Heaven, West Virginia. My Sister and I made the entire trek through the caverns. A half mile around. Down and up. It did take us about an hour and a half. But I'm old and very slow. Also prone to falling and dizziness. But we had a very good experience. Try it out.

My friend and I took the short self guided cave tour and loved every minute of it. Everything is well lit, path easy to follow. A great trip for the whole family. Would love to come back for the longer tour sometime, need to be in Better shape for that. The store has a little museum too. Bring a light jacket otherwise if you like 50 degrees this is the place for you!

Yes, there's a fee to go into the cave, but it's not very much. I agree, go to Groupon to save more!!
No animals. They have their dog inside and probably worried about a fight. They also have a small picnic area and are concerned about people not cleaning up the droppings.
There are many steps inside the actual cave, there is a ramp down but you can't go far into the cave with the stroller wheels down. You can bring it into the shop though, if that's what you want to do.
Depends on your service provider honestly, but you won't get service underground.
I don't want to tell you not to go down into the cavern with a 2 year old but I don't think that I would take a child that young down in there because there is a lot of walking down a steep grade and over rocks and then a steep grade back up the cavern. I think 6 years or older would be probably ok.
You can buy the tickets right there, but you have to do reservations for crawling in caves part, people I met outside they said it was really good
Most likely so you can look up their phone number on their website and call them or contact them through email
