Beautiful and charming right near everything. Disappointed we couldn’t eat at the restaurant but understand the challenges they have. Good morning conversations with the gardener dude too. I would highly recommend 4 stars because Doc Martins was closed while we were there.

This hotel was supposedly renovated but it still looks just the same. The rooms are very dark; we had one floor lamp and one table lamp, which did not work (we told the front desk but nothing was done about it while we were there). I had to use the light on my cell phone to find items in my luggage. We got one 2-oz. bar of soap for 3 days, so we carried it back and forth from sink to shower; the hotel says you can call for more soap or towels, but there are no longer any phones in the rooms so you must call the main hotel telephone number, listen to a promise that they’ll be with you soon; I waited almost 20 minutes before I gave up. Every interaction with the front desk drew the same response: we’re shorthanded. Water pressure in the shower was minimal (although there was plenty of pressure in the nearby sink). The toilet seat did not match the toilet and was not secured, so using it was an adventure. The towel rods and toilet-paper holder had not been dusted in weeks. Outside, along the driveway to the parking lot, there is a large pile of junk and fallen porch roofs; the general manager needs to take a look around the property. This place charges big-city rates but does not offer many amenities: no pool, no spa, no gym (plenty of room in the back to add some attractions where the parking lot used to be). The hotel promotes itself as ‘historic’ but that does not mean luxury or upscale.

Beautiful. Quaint. Historic. A true treasure in the heart of Taos. Pros: Everything you expect from an older, historical hotel. Basic amenities. Bar/Live Music nightly. Most Taos hotspots within walking distance! Cons: People taller than 5'10", Mind the low doorway clearances while entering your guest room.. (Personal Experience) Could use a mini fridge in the rooms..

Very old building but has a nice touch when it comes to decor. The staff was friendly and although booking messed up my reservation the manager made it right. The rooms private and quaint but they do not have a microwave or a coffee machine. There was also no hair dryer. This hotel is haunted and there is a lot of activity throughout the night. Room 109 has the lady in white, whom we definitely saw! Over all we had a great stay and would definitely be back!

I've stayed there on two occasions & saw no guest with pets. Did you try giving them a call. They are very customer friendly.
