The place really closes at 5pm and not 5:30pm very miss leading. To be safe it should post closes at 4:45pm to make sure people don't get locked out. Unfortunately I am standing in front of the building as I make this review, and the time is 5:10pm.

I had to renew my license in person this year. I made sure to go during the time that business was light according to the internet. The parking lot was full and so was street parking but I managed to secure a spot after circling a couple of times. Waits inside were short compared to years past. I managed to complete everything in about an hour. Downsides: People driving the wrong way in the parking lot and no social distancing in the lines or waiting areas.

Unbelievably smooth DMV experience for drivers license renewal! I booked my appointment online (lead time was higher than other nearby DMVs, maybe because services are better here in this location) and headed to the DMV with the documents on the scheduled time. I had booked the last evening slot on a weekday, no queue whatsoever! Was in and out in less than 15 minutes! Special mention to the lovely lady at the service counter - so polite and efficient!

When I went to take my permit test. There was NO WAIT AT ALL. The staff was nice was extremely efficient. They were clear on instructions and I was in and out in a manner of 15 mins. When I scheduled my driver test, my tester was extremely patient. She was very nice and understanding that I was nervous. I couldn't turn the car on for some reason and she let me know that it's ok and to take my time. She gave me a couple tries and the test ended there but it was my fault. She didn't fail me , she just told me to reschedule for a later time. She was nice about it all. I went to my second driver's test today and was Hoping I would get the same lady since I saw that other reviews were negative and how other testers we're verbally harassing the drivers and saying really inappropriate things :(. I ended up getting another tester and he was very nice as well. He was straight forward, made it clear that he just wants to make sure I am driving safe. No tricks . It will be simple. I passed with flying colors and he was extremely nice and gave me critique after for the few errors I made. The other testers I saw (I did not have) looked very nice as well. They were all smiling and approachable. Overall my experience was positive and I have not had a single bad experience in this DMV. 100% recommend!

Driving test
What documents do I need to take my written test for my driver's license? And what does it cost?
Yes. Check the DMV website. You may do your written test at the Alma Ave. location.
Saturday open
Go to DMV. Do not make an appointment. Take all your paperwork. They will give you all the forms at the door. It is not as bad as it used to be and you probably just need a day off from work.
You need to bring identification, license, vehicle registration and payments
I really don't know the process for that.
Hello Madeline and happy memorial day weekend I believe you should calldoes San Jose courthouse or wherever it is you were issued the DU I ask them what your status is even before you go to the DMV pleaseMadeline I believe after 7 years your record and charges get cleared so you may be lucky, either way the court will let you know what steps you must take once again be a driver just hold your head up high because she's totally legallove always Daniel James abstract artist keep them questions coming hey maybe maps will put me on the payroll
Yes it is
Yes, I agree with the rudeness of their employees so go with all your patience and you'll get through it. It would help if the employees remember they deal with this daily we dont so a little patience and proper information could go along way
The title and registration should be in your name, if course.
Unfortunately, you have to go to a dmv to renew your id or licenses.
You sure may, just be sure to sign in upon arrival and be prepared for a long wait since people with appointment are served first, regardless of how early you arrive.
I think you are wrong, because other people's opinions shouldn't matter to you. Especially since she doesn't live in or near you. At that point you are out in the real world dealing with real world issues. Though no you didn't deserve to be disrespected like that. It's the better man's hand to pretend and ignore the ignorant! That's just my opinion though.
You can complete the change of address online at the DMV website, by mail or in-person at the DMV
No, you have to take the written test in person,
Yes, you can. You don't need appointment.
Go to carfax.com and many more websites online just pay and get the report or else walk-in to DMV to collect
Yes. Especially due to covid.
I was there less than 3 weeks ago and walk ins were welcome just like before. Though it's always the longest wait if you don't have one. They will also make sure you have all the documents outside before entering the bulding.
Online
On some dmv do ,check their hours and days
No
Very quickly and fast service. But som workers don't like them job 😒 I don't know why?
Of course you can even without an appointment !!!
you can walk in but I know some people that were renewing their license just had to send the payment in or they send them to another DMV close by but I do know you can walk in and you don't need an appointment
Yes. There is a mail slot on the right side of the front door. It is clearly labeled.
Like you usually do. They have walk ins and appointments as well. They practice social distancing well and take good precautions. Do wear a mask when you go
You need to go in. I went to DMV last week no appointment 20 minutes in line SJ Alma and had to do my driver license last month one hour total time Santa Teresa
Yes you do. When I had mine changed from FL to CA license, it was just a written test.
You need to go to DMV and check with Tom as he is excellent to solve this.
Yes and you can also go to be online ..
Do they accept walk ins for the driving test?
Yes
Yes you can walk in
Yes
Ask for a lost title paperwork from dmv.gonna be a.pain with no.title...good luck
Walk-ins were being accepted last month, when I had been there.
I think the first thing will always be to do the smock check
Well go to the dmv to report, and ask for another, the. Next time you need to scratch the decal already on with a razor 🔪 so you avoid having it stolen
Not sure about written test but DMV WEST ALMA San Jose is open and accepts walk-ins for other reasons. [111 WEST ALMA AVE, SAN JOSE CA.]
Appointment is not necessary, but you should definitely be there in queue before 2:30 PM so that you can enter the office before 4 PM. After 4, you cannot enter even though they close at 5.
If you already have a California resident driving license, you can renew it online or through DMV kiosks.
You can walk in.
You can check Dmv online for Real ID.
You can Make and appointment online.
Yes, they are open.
yes apparently ??
I can go to the sanjose dmv to renew my license. Or I have to make an appointment
Yes
I think you can do it online.
You can always walk in.
Hears. He speaks well. That sticker? That in Safeway? Go no more to the DMV because the line is fast now. All mail and will do everything in less than 2 hours.
You have to go directly to DMV . So you can report and request for the new one. It not working online.
Dude. You need to learn how to actually use the internet. You can renew as long as you are not changing information or getting RealID for 1st time. You cannot fly without it any more in 2020. Follow Google; https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/dmv/onlinesvcs/driverlicenserenewal
Um, Google DMV page? All government offices close on Holidays and NOT the day after. They are not private businesses like gyms. Go without an appointment and you will get done faster.
Do not make an appointment. It takes one month per web page. You go there with your documents and the queue does not take more than 2 hours. They explain everything to you at the door now. Cleinte's attention before entering
Yes. Just walk in because appointment is a joke. They are always booked and you have to schedule 30 days in advance.
You need to bring the title to DMV for changing your ownership
Santa Teresa, Santa Clara and San Jose DLPC DMV is open on Saturday.
Ok
You can make an appointment to drive it depends that you occupy for example for license you do not occupy appointment
No driving test without appointment. So walk-in don't work.
It depends on the year but around 250.00
Use Google next time but you can order a copy. https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/dl/dl_rdc
Wait a month and after that you can do a walk-in.
No
Only ID
Does not matter. If you do not have an appointment then you have to get past the door screen. If you do not have paperwork then you do not get in. Less people wasting time and space. I got done in an hour. Awesome.
Yes IT is
Don't feel that way they all do that .they Will no pay attention since they are so Busy. Try going to another DMV
Definitely you can walk in. They have a line for non appointment. You may need to wait for a while. You would better go there early.
Yes. Just expect to be screened at the door. They will make sure all your papers are in order so you do not waste space or other people's time. I found non appointment to be faster than appointment, because you have to wait at least a month for one. :)
With the police report, go to the DMV and give it to them again
Nope. Closed on Saturday. Just like Santa Clara Traffic Court. These are small towns so get your ish done during the week... :)
They would not take my credit card when I wanted to pay. They said debit only and I was paying for my registration. I assume it would be for all services but definitely debit accepted.
I don't think it's possible
I think not, just that everything must be in order but it is better to call the DMV directly.
Written and driving walk in

Need an appointment
Pg&e , lease agreement
As long as the car has insurance. You dont have to be on the policy.
I don't know. It is certain that you call the DMV and ask questions.
I cannot help you make the appointment but if you decide to go in at like 6 a.m. or not 6 a.m. but the first time when it opens at 8 a.m. you might be able to get an appointment or get a walk-in appointment which would only I mean you only be there for about 15 to 30 minutes sometimes a little bit longer just depends on the amount of people that get there early in the morning
