Raven Ranch is by far the best boarding and training facility in Tucson. The footing is impeccable and is watered and drug on a daily basis in every arena and round pen. There is a cross country track around the property as well that has maintained footing. The covered arena is beautiful and hosts a sound system and is well lit at night. The arena lights are on every single night, which makes it nice to ride or even add some additional light if you’re out with your horse after dark. The barns have misting systems that are on in the hottest times of the summer months. One of the best things about this barn is the stalls are mucked twice a day and the manure is removed off of the property consistently. This makes it so there are minimal flies in the summertime, which is HUGE. The owners, Dave and Lydia are constantly maintaining the grounds with landscaping and upgrades. There are beautiful big trees that offer a lot of shade and gazebos near all the barns and the covered arena to keep cool in summer. The barn aisles are blown out every day and everything is very cleanly kept. There are also a lot of additional amenities you can take advantage of like blanketing (which is personally time managed by Lydia depending on the comfortability of your horse, fly masks being taken off at night, supplements fed, and turnout in the paddock or grass. But by far, my favorite thing about this ranch are the people/trainers that board here and the owners. This is the one rare barn that doesn’t have cliques between boarders/trainers. Everyone is extremely friendly, respectful, and everyone knows and gets along with each other, no matter what riding discipline. There is a strong sense of community that you can’t find anywhere else. The owners, Dave and Lydia though are by far what make this ranch so special. Lydia personally feeds every single horse every single day and knows each one by name and characteristics. She keeps a close eye on every horse and will be the first one to always call if she notices something even slightly out of character going on with your horse, which is incredibly reassuring to know there are experienced eyes on your horse at all times. I've been to many ranches in the Tucson area and this is by far my first choice, especially being a meticulous dressage rider. This ranch easily gets 5 stars from me, as there is no where else I would consider boarding after the level of service I receive here as a boarder.

Simply put, Raven Ranch is one of the best stables here in Tucson. My wife & I have boarded our horses here for over eight years, and the owners - Lydia & Dave - truly care about all of the horses and it shows. They know each and every horse and treat them as if they were their own. Moreover, they are always keeping an eye out for anything amiss - whether it's a new visitor on property, or a horse that just looks a little off -- something we may not otherwise notice since we're not around all the time. Beyond that, they keep the property in tip-top shape - most recently, revamping several of the large round pens (wowzers, what a project that was!) - and the property has lush trees throughout, a huge covered arena, an awesome path around the front and back of the property, all with a direct connection to the Pantano Wash (and yet, there's so much more). Dave & Lydia host stable gatherings from time to time, even going so far as to track down Mr. and Mrs. Claus at times. One of the best things about Raven Ranch is that at its heart, everything is about the horses... and everyone is always keeping an eye out for one another. We honestly don't think there's a better stable in Tucson. If you're looking for a *home* to board your horse, we'd totally recommend making an appointment and checking out Raven Ranch... you'll be glad you did. :) p.s., if you're really lucky, and are on your best behavior this year, maybe you'll even get to see some snow as some of our photos highlight... :)
