I was at this hospital for one week and I came out from there worse than how I entered. They give you absolutely no help whatsoever. They diagnose you with random illnesses just to keep you there. Also, the dr will change your 5150 to a 5250 without you knowing and extend your stay. My 72hrs turned into a week stay. I didn’t Interrupt or do anything wrong there, but the dr will want the state to see a high number of patients to make it seem like they’re doing something to help us. Don’t waste your time coming to this place.

I am a Google software engineer. I am a Johns Hopkins University student/alumni. I am pursuing a future with Harvard Law. Two other Harvard University community members I have spoken with reported experiences with facilities. This is one of the most terrible and unethical I have ever seen in my life. Clients are isolated from family members. They block calls and messages. What kind of a business that is not of suspicious activity does that? They are unresponsive, invasive, and make up false, slanderous, defaming information as they go. I have seen strip patients naked, violating civil and personal rights. Floor personnel avoid people and spend their time on cell phones, computers, making retardation jokes. It is an infestation of floor and wall molds, human excretion feces, and insanitary wasteland. Clients are often sourced into their facility by tricking family members, taking advantaged of abandoned members of society, or through other very weird means. As some client members have mentioned, is it sometimes coercive and even, obviously, create a sense of kidnapping within patients they serve. It is not my problem or my work. I just helplessly feel sad that such a place exist in a community. At some point, nurses may need nurses. Friends and families of the community may utilize the resource. Having a red flag malpractice business is a self-sabotaging cycle to the entire community in of itself. I am heavily concerned with the helpless, powerless people of color population that may not have any advocacy power. I tried contacting their person of color hired diversity case manager specialist & ceo to no avail regarding their floor staff. I recommend audit, review, and improvement. Or otherwise, consider a permanent closure.

Just got out of here. Do not go! John Muir is better. Felt like an zoo animal, thrown into DayRooms for the whole day, color and sleep through another night until discharge. Never had an one on one session to check up on us besides vague, "how are you?" from the doctors. No help whatsoever. How do you med someone up but can't check up on their mental health? It is FOR PROFIT for a reason. Majority of staff were rude especially the front desk. Kids try to kill themselves while being in a place that's supposedly to help you...Ironic.

I was sent here on a 51-50 and really, if you care about your friends and family at all, do not send them here. It's highly traumatizing and my stay (after waiting ten hours in the emergency room) included a highlights list of: cold showers uncomfortable beds not getting fresh sheets for two days after I asked for them throwing up after eating their food not receiving all my confiscated possessions when I was released Multiple friends I had had issues with their doctors and social workers not listening to what they said, as did I. It is painfully clear that the staff does not care about the patients at all. Most of our problems were dismissed, we got yelled at for absolutely nothing, and in my two week stay I can count the number of decent staff on one hand (Gladys I love you never stop being awesome) Please please please please PLEASE if you have a loved one who is struggling, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE! Get them proper help or a facility which will actually make them better. This hospital only makes you worse.

Keep in mind that if a person there doesn't want to talk to you at first they won't tell you they don't want to talk to you I had that experience with my son he got to busy hanging out with the other kids or was having a bad time etc. you as a parent can ask for daily reports if that happens
They probably did this because they didn’t think you were ready to be released. If you aren’t following the rules, not eating, or attending group they tend to make you stay longer
By technicality, they are considered adults. They probably can't risk having adults in the same place a 12 year old might be.
Let's start with what is not allowed: Plastic bags, anything sharp including forks, hardback books, anything with strings. You have to have your ID when you come visit and you will leave your keys in a locker.
