I went today to get my real id. From start to finish everyone there was so very helpful and patient. If you need to do anything with dmv, go to the Pleasanton branch on W Las Positas.

I had an appt. For 8:10 am. And I was outta there by 8:30 am. I don't know what any of the negative commenting people are talking about.. the people I dealt with were courteous and professional and got me in and out of there very quickly.. great experience

Amazing team. It was my regular visit for dl renewal on a busy Friday. Staff took care of everything politely and they made me laugh for the picture. So nice of the team there. Not crowded location. Out of so many DMVs in CA , this is my first great experience. Happy that i am staying in a good place

PLEASANTON TEMPORARY OFFICE FIELD OFFICE is at 2621 Stoneridge Mall, Unit G225B, Pleasanton, CA 94588 Even though the Mall only opens at 11am there is one entrance by the Men's Wearhouse that is open for DMV visitors. All other entrances are closed before 11am. It goes a lot faster if you complete your application online and upload the required docs for Real ID or License renewal.
Where is the DMV located in Pleasanton?
Sure. And that's the best way to do it.
been trying to cancel driving test appointment tomorrow for days now and cannot get through. how can i get through?!
Probably the best DMV in the Bay Area. I should know because I had an office in the building for over 21 years and was responsible for 16 -24 Bay Area DMV's at a time. All of them have their good days and bad days depending on various factors. Best thing to do is do your transaction online or at the very least make an appointment then there's very little to no wait.
You can call DMV and check . Since they are allowing people inside DMV only for URGENT cases and not for all. It is advised to check the DMV web portal or call them.
The Pleasanton Department of Motor Vehicles office will temporarily close beginning 5 p.m. June 25 for renovations. In the mean time, DMV will open an office at Stoneridge Mall (1 Stoneridge Mall Road, Pleasanton) beginning 9 a.m. July 22, the DMV announced Tuesday. The office will remain open after Pleasanton's field office reopens at 9 a.m. August 26
It is a privilege to have a vehicle
For written you need to walk-in
No, literally waited 7 hours and still didnt get to take the test
Where can I exchange my plates with my personalized plates?
Go back in the website you scheduled your original appointment and see if you can change it.
Pleasanton DMV did a great job. I just got my new license. They are very efficient and helpful. You need to go as early as you can to get the job done before it gets busy and the wait time gets longer.
Go to the DMV and tell them it was stolen. They will let you know what to do
Online
There is a form @ DMV you fill out and bring your title also. There is a fee
Bring the title and do a vehicle verification of mileage at Dmv..
Yes
Download Form REG 227 (Application for Duplicate Title) from the California DMV website. Print it out, and complete it. Make sure the following information is provided: The name of the owner (full name) The current address of the owner The driver’s license number of the owner The license plate number for the car An explanation of what happened to the previous title The owner’s signature The damaged title (if possible, not required in all instances) To apply for a duplicate title in person: Make an appointment at your local DMV office. Bring the completed form and all other information. Pay the $20 replacement fee.
Not sure. Certified mail or hand deliver I would think.
Yes there's one in the mall but I went to the one on Las Positas
Usually takes 4-6 weeks. Give the USPS a little slack they are still suffering from the effects of Louis DeJoy.
Yes, appointment scheduling can be done online at https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/make-an-appointment/
No
6300 W. Las Positas Blvd., Pleasanton, CA 94588
by appointment only. You can walk-in at 4:00pm, if lucky you can get in for more information
Yes they are. Don't show up last minute because you probably won't get helped.
No appointment is required for your visit.
Create an account online and log in. You should find all of your info there. Or go to the DMV in person. No appointments being taken right now but you can walk in. Lines aren't long.
Not until they allow driving tests again. Covid has caused all this to stop. You'll have to wait.
Yes cancelled and no they are not taking appts
Yes
Yes they are open.
You have to go in person. They have full service at the mall. Must have birth certificate, ssn & 2 forms of proof where you reside.
They are temporarily inside Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton. Use the mall entrance by Mens Wearhouse. They take your temperature first. Inside the mall it's across from Lane Bryant/just before Sees Candies.
for detailed DMV location, please search "Men's Wearhouse,Stoneridge Mall" from google map, not sure if can do written test, DMV official is at entrance, check with them
Not sure, but i think for a picture you mlm just remove the mask
You have to go stand in line outside. A DMV employee then goes to each person in line to make sure they have everything they need to complete their business. If your license expires between March and July and you are over 70 and you don't renew, they are supposed to send you a paper 120-day extension in the mail without you doing anything.
Yes, you can get computer test from like. But not test by wheel now, just asked yesterday. Got an answer: check DMV site for updates.
Yes
That I do not know best thing to do would be to call the Pleasanton DMV directly and they could better assist you
Best thing to do is call the DMV directly to see what their hours of operation are now
You can make an appointment but they are 2 to 3 months out it would be faster to walk in
Yeah do o have to call or schedule for appointment or can I walk in?
Yes you can that would be the best option so you can get in and out quickly
Best thing to do is call Pleasanton DMV and they can let you know the hours of road test operation
I checked the website and so far I always see this: "Sorry, all appointments at this office are currently taken. Please select another office."
Thanks for your responses, folks. I was able to complete it yesterday at the Pleasanton DMV and it took a total of two hours including the written test.
Get a moving permit? A tow? Police?
Yes, any CA DMV. Written and driving test can be different DMV.
No. Only 2017 and newer Plug in Hybrid or EV can have HOV stickers.
If you have the correct address on file. If it doesn't come to your home go to a local dmv.
Per below DMV site, seems like all handicap place cards are mailed to you. You can mail or dropoff the application. https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/pubs/brochures/fast_facts/ffvr07#
Please use this url https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/portal/foa/welcome
Go online and complete checklist for the Real ID. You'll need to bring documents to validate your identity and residence e.g. Birth certificate or passport, social security, bank account statement showing your address...
As Nick has mentioned, they only have the written tests on Saturday. No behind-the-wheels test on Saturday.
Right before closing
If u made appointment online, u can go to view and change appointments to cancel it. I recommend to cancel the appointment if u don't need it. Save for someone else who may really need it. Cause everyone knows it is soo difficult to make dmv appointment
There are almost no chances to reach DMV by calling them. Use website
You don't need it. But the queue is usually long. So its better you get an appointment if you can.
No
Some offices yes, other offices have procedures that you can just walk in and able to take the test. It's easier if you ask the DMV office that you are wanting to go too.
No, you should bring the man who have CA Driver License to take behind wheel test.
You can, only registration has restrictions of when you can renew.
Must have title or application for duplicate title (REG 227), current owner must sign off, and then owners who wish to be on vehicle must complete the sections for NEW owners. Depending on the relationship between the OWNER and the Added owner may need to complete REG 256 *look at form to see if this applicable. $15 transfer fee (and maybe additional fees or SMOG due). I suggest making an appointment and speaking to a technician within a Field office to get exact requirements for your transfer.
In most cases you can.
You should call them. There should be a way to change it online or by mail without going there in person.
Call or go on their website click renew registration enter your vin number . It will give you instructions on how to do it.
My experience and this is with ANDwithout appts..2 to 7 hour wait and then they wanted to SEE an actual SS card....I had my passport and copy ofmy tax return and birth certificate and Medicare card which is now changing #s but was denied!!!!!!really frustrating I’m lucky I guess I’m retired and have “...nothing better to do with my life?”
No more Saturdays
Thanks. But we are getting appointment only in February
Yes.... make sure one of them is a social security cause they will ask for it.
Go online to there website and follow the instructions
When can I expect to teceive notice to renew?
You need to have proof of DOB, Social Number and Proof of Residency. Check dmv.ca.gov for details as well
You have visit dmv with your documents to check that. Try calling them in advance and taking appointment
