The store clerk was quite unfriendly here, I would avoid this store if you can.

I find it disconcerting that "Ash" , a shoe clerk did not know how to look up a shoe by a sku or isbn number. And could careless. I have female problems and cannot simply "go to your store". Why doesn't this young person learn to help a geriatric lady going through the change of life. I worked retail. Do your job properly. I shouldn't have to go behind you and do it.

There shoes are wonderful if you have foot problems and the factory in San Antonio stands behind the shoes they sell. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes work well for me. This said I did find that while the shoes I selected worked well for walking to and from the office, even working in the office. When I changed to retail those shoes no longer worked well for me. So I suggest choosing your shoes with your career in mind. Their shoes for the most part do last well...

I have owned SAS shoes for over 30 years now. San Antonio Shoestore (SAS) are made in Texas by quality craftsmen who manufacture shoes for comfort in everyday lifestyles. My relatives live in El Paso, Texas, and introduced me to them as a teenager where we used to shop their factory second stores where the shoes had slight imperfections in the stitching of the uppers but full guarantees of the products. We always made a point to shop there when visiting relatives when in town! Now they're available locally! I'm a customer for life!!🙂 However ........ I went to this store over the weekend, there were 3 Chinese people standing around talking, and I went to look at shoes. Eventually one person came over and said they were an employee without any identification. I told them that I'm a Kaiser member looking for diabetic shoes. They didn't know of any where I had to point them out from a competitor's catalog. One person, Don, told me that they work with Kaiser all the time and would be able to handle the paperwork. I called the DME department at Kaiser today and they said they haven't heard of this vendor previously. When calling this store for over 4 hours their phone lines have been busy! I finally got through to Don, who said that he would follow up with Kaiser, and call me back. I never heard back from Don! This store has limited parking where an apartment complex residents take most of the parking places and you're limited to parking on the busy Stevens Creek. My family has purchased over 5 shoes from this store in the past and had some problems finding their sizes since we wear large and wide shoe sizes. Eventually, either they have ordered them or we had to drive to Gilroy to the outlet store there. I'm not confident that the employees are reliable to assist a customer for special orders, where I'm a 13 extra wide, and follow through with the proper paperwork for insurance or health care reimbursement. ***** A few days later I called and spoke with Michelle, one of the store managers, and told her what my insurance covered where she implied that she, and the store owner, would match it. I just came back from purchasing the shoes and they failed to honor this request where they applied an 11% discount. I thought that they would step up with their customer service but failed in the process. I also needed paperwork that stated that the shoes were diabetic approved and never received any information for my insurance submission. I'm stuck in the middle where my simple requests, which should be easily met and initially guaranteed, have been denied. I'm on a limited income where every dollar counts! *********************** 01/30 As I returned to the store today, I was informed that the corporate representative had stopped by. I wish that I could have spoken with them and see if they have any information specifically identifying shoes for diabetics. Michelle greeted me with an attitude where I politely discussed the shoes, fit and cost and she abruptly asked for my payment, issued a return and showed me the door! Wow, SAS shoes is all about customer service and this store with this attitude doesn't want anyone's business! All of the clerks seem like they have other things to do and you're just taking up their own personal time. Every time that I've been in the store the employees are huddled together, where the owner appears to be among them, and eventually after 5 to 10 minutes offer to assist the customer. This is a franchise store that doesn't represent the values of the real San Antonio Shoestore that has been an established long term successful business. The owner is unresponsive and not accountable for the problems and behavior of the store employees. The Gilroy outlet store is a true reflection of the company's business and welcomes the customers with the great employee service and experience! Skip the Santa Clara store and get a proper sizing and fit for your feet! They are an authorized dealer being an outlet store.
