It is a great place to walk on flat elevation...is a little boring for the first 20 minutes and the trail takes you back into the mouth of the mountain pass

Cool place to take your dogs especially when they love the water. There’s a little creek just by the parking lot. The road can be a little rough but it’s okay, you just have to go slow till you reach the parking area.

This was my first time visiting this place. I would have never discovered it if I hadn't been deferred from Whitewater. Which is a historical story by the way involving feral cows I kid you not. Anyway mission Creek preserve was an awesome diversion. I only spent about four or 5 hours. Make sure don't wash your car before coming out here because it is a Dusty road.

Mission Creek Preserve was a result of a failed attempt to hike the more popular Whitewater Canyon Loop Trail during the Memorial Day weekend. the ranger advised we should come here to hike up to the Stone House, which you can have access to with a car if you call beforehand and get the code to the locked gate. From there, if you choose to, you can hike up to the PCT. it's not a shady hike for sure, and the land is also shared with some bears and coyotes, but overall the hike to the Stone House was fairly flat and easy.

Yes if you get a hold of the ranger at whitewater preserve you can arrange it with them ...have a happy happppppy 1 😀
It's public land. Yes you can bring your dog. Watch out for the rattle snakes. You may want to keep your dog on a leash. Ive seen 6 footers on the trail.
At the stone house there are modern restrooms with running water. That is one and a half miles from the main locked gate. You can either hike to Stonehouse or drive to it. If you want to drive you need to contact the preserve ahead of time to obtain the combination to the gate lock. The gate, which has a parking lot, is a couple of miles from highway 62 on a graded gravel road with some washboard and rocks here and there but quite doable on a regular car, no four-wheel drive or high clearance needed.
