Great hike. The trail continues well past bob hope house but you can stop halfway at it.

Really enjoyable hike up to Bob Hope House, with sweeping views of the valley below. Recommend taking lots of sunscreen and water as there is no shade, if you're going in the summer it's definitely worth it going early to avoid the heat. If you're there in October, the Halloween decorations at the start of the trail are kinda random but quirky and fun.

Nice up and down trail with good views of the valley. The path is fairly flat and even and easy to walk because of the switchbacks, but it gets pretty steep near the top. It would make for some great hill training for trail runners. P.S. you can see Bob Hope's old house from the trail.

Typical Palm Springs mountain hike with gorgeous views. One hour 15 minutes up, 45 min to come down. Hot in summer, come early in the morning and bring plenty of water.

Questions & Answers

Where does the trail head start and is there parking? Also are leashed dogs allowed on the trail?

Greg Yoshimizu | Dec 31, 2020

Dogs are not allowed on trails. Trailhead starts at southridge dr. and palm canyon dr. The rest of the street from google maps is private property.

Hello. Is it possible to see the famous elrod house on the route? thanx

Yes you get to see it on the right hand side of the trail as you start climb to the top. You get to see at least 2/3 of the house as you ascend the hillside. It's quite something to see.
