The name hooked me to go visit. Learning the history of this place was really different even though I was expecting Aztec ruins it's more pueblan tribes of the area that built these amazing ruins. The architecture is simply amazing but those tiny doors make me wonder how tall where they??🤔🤔. Please be considerate of the the local bats that dwell there, remember that is there home and you are guest.

Fun national monument to check out! Free entry (though they accept donations!). Museum exhibits are well done and informative with nice interactive spots for kids interwoven. Short film is a nice introduction before going out to the ruins. There are nice restrooms for use also. And a small gift shop with all the basics for all ages!! The half mile loop through the ruins is well marked (they offer a free audio app to use on tour or you can purchase a $2 booklet) and as I'm sure you've seen paved. It's amazing to be able to walk through and see and touch history! There is also a really nice shaded space to picnic out front (and you can watch prairie dogs play in front of that area!). Also a great native garden to stroll and learn from.

Great place to stop. Interesting exhibits. Great talk by ranger on bats — unexpected subject — but relevant as at least two species summer there. Guided tour via download (didn’t work for me) or $2 booklet. We’ll worth it!

This is a must see site. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The site looks big but actually very easy to navigate. There was a choice of a guidebook or cell phone audio app, or you could use a loaned spiral bound guide. Halfway through, a guide came out to give more information and answer questions. He pointed out little factoids that we would not have known like the numbered plugs found on the wood beams. I came away with a much greater appreciation of the ancient Pueblo and their unique way of life.

Absolutely. The excavation was ceased in order to preserve a majority of it.
If your looking to go through everything, including pictures and other misc things. 2hrs, allow yourself this much time as this place is beautiful. Had fun with the family and the people there were nice.
While it might be legal in NM, keep in mind this site is run by the NPS - a federal agency...
No it's a Federal holiday
