Maybe, not charging $15 to walk-in to a park. With a annual budget of $3.15 billion dollars of taxpayers funds. You wouldn't have to tax the residents of the state to visit public lands.

NOT the Visitors Center. The Visitors Center is on State Road 49 south of US 20. National Park emergency services operate from this building.

Yes, one of my favorite campgrounds. Clean, relatively quiet. Short drive to town, if supplies are needed. Can rent a bike from a little shop near the campground. Train station available for a jaunt in to Chicago.
Yes it is.
At the west beach u have an area of the beach to walk but the dunes themselves r off limits. There is a stairway ( of over 100 steps I was told ) leading up to the top to where there is trails to walk.
