I was the very 1st video/tech docent for "the biggest class room in the world" all 37,500 acres of the Dye Creek Preserve. Los molinos unified was the only school given access in the mid 90's......

Hikes during different seasons offer neat views of vegetation. The canyon has some great outcrop geology, too.

It's a tragedy that this state owned property is not open to the public. To access drop in from Ishi wilderness. 4wd vehicle recommended when accessing from eastern portion. Watch out for poison oak.

Hi Mike, yes you can! Hunting on the property is managed by Western Wildlife Adventures (www.wildlifeadv.com).
Thanks for asking! As a nonprofit organization we can allow visitors to take photos and videos for non-commercial purposes. Feel free to call us to discuss your video project!
Hi Marc, Great timing with this question. We don't have capacity to organize rides but we would consider granting access to local biking clubs or Meetup groups that could host rides. We are working to expand the variety of group activities offered at the preserve. Groups, clubs, classes, etc that would like to host an event here can inquire at 530-527-4261. Thanks, Scott
